Why do Europeans lag so behind asians in their strongest stem discipline?
>>
>>223441828
I remember olympiads being somewhat of a big thing back in hs, I heard for mathemathics there's a section where you need to run while doing math, sounds fun, wish I joined.
>>
>>223441991
Could you?
>>
>>223441828
Nobody cares about these things in the first world. Only thirdies take these competitions seriously and put a lot of effort to get medals.
>>
>>223442260
Could've, I'm friends with the smart group circle, I just chose to be a weeb and joined the japanese club like a retard
>>
>>223442308
Singapore is a third world? South korea is a third world? Taiwan is a third world? Japan is a third world? Israel is a third world?
>>
>>223442308
This is the same excuse thirdies use about Olympic medals and Nobel prizes.
>>
>>223442387
For Olympics yes, but Nobel Prize committee operates much more complicated. Basically it's very exclusive circle concentrated in western institutions, so to be nominated you are basically required to have people in that exclusive network that will push your nomination. And even if you are within these institutions, you could still be overlooked if you are from perephirial areas of the west like eastern europe ir latam

One of the greatest scientists of 20th C, Dr Y Subbarow never got a nobel.
He's responsible for discovering ATP's role in energy metabolism, Folic Acid and Methotrexate.

And all of those "Kazakh" contestants are Russians

It's really not popular here at all

President of the International Physics Olympiad: Vladimir Vodkanovic Belobelov
Vice President: Wei Too Long

>>223441828
Useless shit award
It's just brute force computation which we dont need humans to do anymore past troubleshooting machines
>>
>>223442690
Only one guy, all others are kazakhs
>>
>>223441828
fun fact - jasmine begalinova was one of the participants
>>
>>223442859
this. anthropic predicts most STEMcels will be replaced within two years
>>
>>223442747
These "80 iq people" got more golds than 105 iq japanese despite having way less population. Maybe the pseudo study by lynn and his russian friend isn't a reliable source
>>
>>223442387
It's not an excuse. I've literally never even heard of these things before coming here and thirdies posting about them. They simply aren't something people here care about and most don't even know they exist.
>>
>>223443035
agi in two more years
>>
>>223441828
The sad part is that almost all of them will migrate to the west because all the money is there. Thirdies unironically improve when Trump cracks down on h1b, even if it also means their talents are utilised optimally.
>>
>>223442747
>103
Nice try, jeet. Average russian IQ is between 96 and 103, with most studies putting their IQ below 100.
>>
>>223443402
This "study" was conducted by russian nationalist btw
>>
>>223442380
Lol
>>
>>223442859
This
It's basically a green card so you can immigrate to America.

Critical thinking > memorization/computation

All problems in these olympiads need critical thinking retard
>>

And jobless neet that hates physics can troubleshoot machine?
>>
>>223442690
Why from all countries turkey? I feel betrayed
>>
>>223442381
yes

These Olympiads are so fake lmao I didn't even think they still existed. Like other anons ITT said only post-Soviet shitholes care about these.
Real redpill is they were created by communists with a hidden agenda - they were basically supposed to be a dick-measuring contest between the Soviet bloc and the Western bloc. It's the same as with actual Olympiads - even though the average Chinese is an unimpressive manlet who looks like a stronger wind could blow him off the face of the Earth they have very good results in the olympic games because they have special programs designed to produce future olympic sportsmen and sportswomen. That way they're building national pride so even though the life of the average person is shit they have something to rejoice when their Olympic team wins or their nerds are the best nerds in the world. These Olympiads didn't exist before WW2 and globohomo when actual progress in mathematics and physics was being done although one could argue that there were some forerunners like the Cambridge Trypos
