If you care about speed, they're both very good. Rust is still in its infancy in the company world, but it's really nice for hobbyists. Also it makes /g/ay men seethe, that's always good news

Do you know how to program already? Saying "should I learn x" as if it were a human dialect suggests you're getting started. Both those languages would be annoying places to begin. Haskell would be better to learn the actual theory from, and most of its discipline around immutability carries over well to finance, as opposed to something more hacky like Python. The general trend in language design is still "how do we make a more high-performance, practical version of Haskell?" If you learn Haskell first, then treat your dayjob language as a more retarded version of it, you'll go far. Interviewers usually don't hound you on specific languages unless they're box ticking jeets.
