I'm 19 years old and lately I’ve been struggling with severe anxiety about failing at life in the future. I see the poor state of people both my age and older who haven't succeeded anything in life, and the sheer amount of this people makes me panic at the very real possibility that I too might end up like them one day. I find myself dwelling on the immense effort and luck required to lead a successful above-average life and I think about how easily my own life could go off the rails due to even the smallest of mistakes and I might have to wageslave at supermarkets or factories like them for the rest of my life just to survive

There’s nothing wrong with working at a supermarket or a factory and work is not everything in life.

You got time
You arent 30 and a loser like the rest of us
Here's something I realized too late:
Good things won't just happen to you. You must make them happen. Really just do something if you do nothing things won't change and even get worse

That anxiety you're describing is the real killer, I had that too when I was younger, that anxiety made me strive so hard that I completely burnt myself out, it lead me down a path in life that I really didn't want at all, everything I did was to try and impress other people, all the things I desired at that point was what society had told me to desire, deep down I didn't want any of it.

That anxiety stems from poor self-confidence, strive to be a good person, help others, be humble, once good morals becomes your nature, your self-confidence will grow and that anxiety will slowly go away, and suddenly the thought of working at supermarket or whatever wont bother you and life will be fulfilling, you'll realize the only thing that truly matters is family and a few friends, maybe a hobby or two, everything else is a rabbit-hole into mental-illness and suffering.
