>>223473788I did, it my youth. Hiking in the Malaysian jungles is no joke. Malaysia is very mountainous and 51% of our land is covered by jungles. Daily hikes are at most 2-5 km traversing difficult terrain in 35C, 98% humidity and perpetual twilight under 50 m tall trees. You sweat literally buckets but don't cool down due to the humidity. Meaning you have to carry lots of clean water which is heavy. At night, there are wild animals, so you have to take turns as sentry until morning. Today, many of the hiking trails have been touristified, with proper cleared paths, signages and mobile phone coverage. Yet every year there are people who died while hiking.
