Swedes too. Was heavily marketed in the 90s. There was already cozy Friday (sounds like some tourist brochure bs, but it's a real thing), and people started eating tacos during those.

Almost always minced meat here, with a commercial taco spice mix and salsa sauce and guacamole and cheese and salad and stuff. Simple to prepare comfort food. Maybe it's a bit like mac'n'cheese in the US culturally.
