It’s a partial eclipse here (the whole country) with the far west getting the highest percentage coverage obviously, it’s going to be >90% even in London though. Literally nobody seems to have eclipse glasses round here, no shops not even opticians sold them. I saw the partial eclipse back in 2014/5 (?) but apparently the next is going to be 2090; and I didn’t get glasses fml.

I couldn't see it with my glasses and I was too scared to look at it without them so I saw it for maybe 5 seconds because it was only visible for 30 seconds here so I was worried that the sun would come back out and I would fry my eyes due to the sun coming back out like the Simpsons. I did research when I got back home that that's basically a myth and it's totally fine to look at an eclipse without glasses as long as it's a total eclipse. I am glad I saw it but I need to go to the 2027 or 2028 eclipse now. I need to stare it for at least a fully minute and really appreciate it. The 5 seconds I saw it are seared into my memory. I need to see more. I want to do 2027 eclipse since it will be much cheaper and easier but my gf doesn't want to, she only wants to do 2028 since it is in Australia and she wants to go there.
