Trips to Japan and America more than once a year
Toyota Landcruiser
Maxxed out iPhone in whatever is the most expensive color
Rockwell or Shangri-La luxury condominium
If they have kids they either attend International Waldorf/ Montessori schools or (Christian) Chinese schools
>>
A nice 70k sedan.
Those 100k trucks are owned by companies and used for blue collar work, would be extremely silly for someone to personally own one desu.
>>
>has a spouse they don't hate
>don't live paycheck to paycheck
>randomly having unplanned kids, house fires, injuries, etc is no problemo
that's it

Having huge payments on a financed depreciating asset is in fact a sign that you have not made it and are larping.

My gf and I unironically make $130k per year and we have a 20 year old Toyota Tundra with 230,000 miles and a second hand BMW 440i that I bought with a blown engine very cheap and did all the work myself. We are leasing a Cadillac small EV soon though but thats only $350 a month and I get free charging at work.

A few years ago, making it was owning a residential plus extra houses to lease out. A lot of upper middle class, especially combined income households, did that.

Right now houses are worth almost twice of what they were a decade ago.. so the actual power move here is probably paying off a mortgage well before retirement.

rich people just seem happier. They dont have the look of desperation.
>>
I just do whatever I want most of the time and don't worry about what other people think or say. If I want to drive to Budapest in my 90s euro shitbox I on Monday I will. If I want to take the train to Montenegro and the the ferry to Italy I will.
It's pretty simple
>>
Having property of any kind (only like 30% of Germans own property), especially if it's a detached house.

Having nice and straight teeth (public health insurance doesn't pay for braces or implants which can cost serveral thousand bucks).

Getting a car for your birthday, even if it's a shitbox.

Among younger people, being married. This has recently become a major signifier that someone is wealthy or hsd made it.

on the outskirts of Calgary there are semi-rural acreage communities. it's not a burb. it's outside city limits and it's not condensed in a burb kind of way. it's like small farms but the owners aren't doing any farming. those are the very rich people places. they may or may not have horses.

no the thing is they buy the blue collar intended trug, a dualie even, lift it and put alloy wheels on it with oversized off-road tires and never ever use it for anything it was designed to do. and only drive it on paved roads.

Vaguely related post: some people here get picrels and switch the offroad tires to road tires and use it for commuting.
>>
>>223947179
why not a 4x4 kei truck instead
>>
>>223947213
It goes too fast. Idea is the ATV counts as a tractor (yellow registry plate) so a 15 year old can drive it with a "T licence". Also there's no mandatory yearly vehicle inspection nor a tax.
Picture is vaguely related, someone built a hot rod type of vehicle with a small diesel engine, restricted it to 40km/h or so and registered it as a tractor.

Rich people here no longer do such things. They will go out in t-shirts, shorts and sandals. No one dresses up unless you have a formal event to attend. Even flashy cars have become passe. The noveau rich people car is actually the JDM people movers like the Toyota Alphard or Hyundai Alphard. Even show offs still want a practical van. Truly rich people have no desire to stand out.
>>
>>223948297
Meant to say Hyundai Starex.

I already own my house, I inherited it and own land that i paid for on my own and yes leasing it makes sense because I am only paying $349 and my employer pays for the charing and insurance. $349 is literally less than it cost to refuel my Tundra bi weekly. Sounds like your projecting. My gf already has a comfy job where she literally gets over paid to just tell other women how they should style other womens hair and makeup.

Able to buy a car
Able to go on a vacation to other countries

This is the real answer. Anything else is just a debt signifier for 99% of people.

Cars can't be that expensive.
