I was born in Tangier, and for some reason I always liked Hong Kong themed movies and games since i was a kid
funny enough today I found out it used to be an International zone like Hong Kong

I was born in Monterrey, Mexico, which is kind of in the transition between the desert and semi-arid shrubland/subtropical forests.
Come to think of it, I've had a strong interest in North Africa and the Middle East. I associate Morocco and Southern Spain with oranges, saffron, the beautiful mosques and madrassas built in the days of the Almohads and the Almoravids, trigonometry, and algebra.
Whenever I look at the matorral (shrubland) around me, I often think about how similar it must be to the land in Southern Spain that my ancestors immigrated from, and that once used to be inhabited by Muslims, Christians, and Jews alike.
I've never been to Morocco, but I'd love to go there one day.

trips of truth, and I yea, I did grow up eating tangerines after each lunch until I moved away from the north, since I never spent longer than 3 years in one city, always moving

Moroccan government is very secretive about territorial history so we don’t learn about this type of stuff
But we did learn about Ibn Battuta as many other Arab countries do also
