What happens in Raposo?

it depends if it's an autostrada or superstrada. This one is from an autostrada (green color), but has exits in blue (superstrada or hovever extraurban road) or white (urban road)

Take a wild guess

We have two kinds of highway.

(A) Autobahn - blue signs with white writing. Only cars, trucks and motorcycles may be on the autobahn. They must be able to drive at least 60 km/h, but for safety reasons police will get anybody off the autobahn if they're under 80. There are no intersections or traffic lights on the autobahn.

(B) Bundesstraßen. Signs are yellow with black writing. In places they can look like an autobahn and where they do, the same restrictions apply - no bicycles or pedestrians allowed. In other places it's just a normal road with intersections and traffic lights, but it usually runs through to another city and the road is maintained by the federation, not the county or city.

American highways signs are usually very clear and explicit to drivers

Every state has it's own personal shield for state highways

I witnessed that one time. There was one truck ahead of me that drove like 60 km/h (40 mph). Only two lanes availble and rush hour, so a traffic jam formed instantly and I sat in it. About 20 minutes later a police car came by on the service lane. When I finally reached the truck that caused this, they had pulled it over and were talking to the driver. Romanian number plates of course.

I think highway signs are always blue. The green just means it is not a proper highway but a main road or something else
>>
>>223993275
those are autostrade or wtf are they called in english, they are green (e77)f you see>>223993038 there also is a green one (e80)

Picture shows a sign above the B1 highway near me. Yellow with black letters means it's a bundesstraße (with traffic lights ahead). The blue parts with white letters show that this B1 bundesstraße becomes the A40 autobahn further up, and that you can drive off to reach the A2 autobahn if you take the next exit.

there are blue her ebut on extraurban roads. You dont have the differentiation there? green= autostrada; blue= extrurban road; white =urban road. If not that's a huge flaw
>>
>>223993414
Yes we do have different kinds of roads and highways, as I wrote in my first post here: >>223993146
No green signs in Germany, though. We have blue >>223993146
and yellow >>223993335
White signs aren't for highways. Counties may put up brown signs for tourist attractions, but they've become fewer since the autobahn service companies were privatized - they now demand much too much money for a brown sign.

I think every country has these different tiers. Here there are the standard 130km/h highways and the 110km/h roads that are generally 2x2 but do not have a shoulder lane but you cant tell it from the name alone, for example M85 is a110km/h type but M35 is a 130km/h type with shoulder lane. But not many people care here about the speed limits here anyway but they are generally built with a slightly lower standard as narrower roads and maybe bit higher turn angles.
I'm just glad there is GPS now otherwise I would be so lost, I generally have no idea about the system here I just follow the map

I like watching documentaries on your road trains
>>
>>223993530
We put a letter in front of the highway number: A for autobahn, like for example "A40", B for bundesstraße, like "B1". Technically there is no speed limit on the autobahn, but in practice there always is in metropolitan areas like where I live it's 100 km/h. Or we have these things (picture). They can go up to a 120 km/h speed limit at night, or down to 60 km/h during thick rush hour traffic. (Not that you could even reach that 60 when it's really full in the morning and afternoon.)
>>
>>223993603
I've never watched one personally, I've maybe only ever seen a road train IRL once since that kind of thing is on the really rural highways and not the ones nearby cities.
>>
>>223993610
>>223993530
Oh, also our number system was very organized from the beginning when Hitler built the first autobahn. Odd numbers run north-south, even numbers run east-west. The smaller the number the more important the autobahn is - like I live near the autobahn intersection where the A1 and the A2 cross eachother. A555 or A100 are short local autobahnen in contrast.
