We had Walmart here for 2 or 3 years I think. It didn't work. Walmart had the policy that if you found one of their articles to be cheaper at another market, and you brought them a cash receipt from that market, they would lower their prices for you to match that of the other market. They had to do that too often. Walmart was just no competition for German supermarkets. In the end they sold all of their stores and left Germany with a deficit of over 1 billion dollars.
