I actually liked some of the unit designs, but the game itself is incredibly poorly balanced. If you have double the initiative of another unit, you can move twice before him, which in practice makes all the slower units like the dracoliches or the gargoyles completely useless. It has some questionable design choices like fixed spots to capture instead of rods to terraform, as well as a heroes-like battle map. The campaigns are much more HoMM style, because they focus on specific heroes, rather than the gods directly. When I reinstalled the mod after a long time with M2EX, I tried to play North Dunedain on hard campaign, I think I restarted about 20 times and then gave up because some idiot told me to go for Anuminas which is an insanely bad idea and I kept trying again and again to make that work.I lowered it to normal/normal, then started rushing Goblin-Town with most of my units and having a movie-tier battle clearing out two units of trolls there. Nightmare. M2EX also seems to make the diplomatic AI harder for some reason. When Russians took over the mod, they also started nerfing the good faction units and AI so Gundabad, Angmar and Goblins of Moria play like Terminators while Elves are just sitting in Imladris,What makes Dol Amroth interesting to you? They seem to be rich in a cozy spot, I don't think you can lose.

There is something deeply satisfying setting up the perfect charge into an enemy flank and watch them disintegrate. Other than that my favourite faction has to be Anduin Vale. You don't get a moment of respite. Snow orcs coming down from the north, goblins from the west and Dol Guldur from the east. Non stop chaos .Also I only set the battle difficulty on hard not the actual campaign difficulty because the AI cheats like a motherfucker and having to defend the same siege over and over again get really boring really fast.
