Well, I looked into it. It seems this kind of thing was only really used on prisoners. Not something you would trust your life with against a prepared and armed enemy. If that's the case then I guess our version would be switchblades, light batons, stuff you picked up off the ground (chains, cinderblocks, etc). Anything you would use against someone who didn't know they were fighting yet or had already lost and you wanted longer prison sentence.
