I like movies that challenge me to come up with explanations, and either I'll be like 'ah, I knew it!' or 'you got me there, well played'. but that is not to say I like unforseeable non-sequitur twists unless they in retrospect are hinted at in the story.and the Nazis didn't even hate blacks. there's this famous anecdote of Hitler congratulating an Afro-American olympian when his own people wouldn't (certainly also strategical).there were simply almost no blacks in Germany at the time. now they advocated for 'ethno-pluralism', i.e. 'stay were you are', but there was simply no need to agitate against blacks.the other day I watched a doc with interviews of a few 90+ people of my city that were children at the end of WWII, talking about the air raids (with a big fire-bombing at the end that killed a lot of people and destroyed many historic buildings).that was followed by American troops moving in, which was a relief because people were afraid the Red Army would come and kill/rape/loot everything. but it was the burgers and people were surprised that they treated them like humans.all of them said they had never seen a black person before the G.I.s came, and they didn't know what to expect. some of their parents forbaden them from taking food handouts from them, fearing they would be poisoned. so almost like an alien species to them initially.
