>>224468634No, Shinto wasn't invented in Meiji Restoration. It was heavily reformed back then and given many of its current forms, but the religious traditions, theology, and organization didn't pop out of nowhere. It's a bit like you'd argue that Christianity is a fake religion, because Roman Emperors and Bishop's councils decided major parts of doctrine and organization (which is a rather strong argument, admittedly).
