What happens here?

I never see Australians mention it even though it's one of their states.

>I never see Australians mention it even though it's one of their states
true come to think of it, no one ever talks about Tasmania, no one's ever been to Tasmania, no one knows anyone who's from Tasmania
starting to think it isn't real

I heard the natives who started living there lost IQ and regressed technologically

Me buying a 50k house in Queenstown.

>One early-16th-century European account by Ludovico di Varthema describes southern Javanese sailors reaching an island where the days were extremely short and the climate extraordinarily cold. Modern interpretations place the described location well south of Tasmania.

Not cheaper. Some of it is better than NZ (less natives as well), on average probably the same or a bit worse.
>how's the climate and everything?
It gets cold, but not *that* cold. It can be pretty hot and dry in summer as well.

If you wanted it you should've taken it while it was available

Very comfy place, there's just not a lot in the way of employment. People don't talk about it because it's 87% the size of Scotland with 9% of the population. I wouldn't be surprised if more than 3/4ths of people from the mainland have never been there.

About 1.2m or 1.3m Australian visit Tasmania each year compared with 1.4m to NZ.
