why do germans always wanna play games when they meet each other?it's always drinking games, board games or computah games and in the end everyone focuses on the game and not on each other
>>224476040germans dont even like visiting others at home wdym
>>224476079liar
>>224476040Life is a game. You need to be capable at it. But people are passing. You can be friend with one for 2 years but one day he moves out or gets infuriated at you and friendship is gone. Stay loyal to a game, not the people
>>224476040What do you mean? Board games are so cool
>>224476146>Board games are so coolkinda but it's still weird hanging out with people for like 4-6h but during that time you effectively interacted with them for like 30mins at best
>>224476191What is there to interact about?
>>224476040I don't know a single drinking gamewhat are some German drinking games
>>224477216Flunkyball, Königsrunde, Busfahrer, Pferderennen are some drinking games that I know
>>224477216Step 1: drink the beerStep 2: pay your tab and go home
>>224476191>but during that time you effectively interacted with them for like 30mins at bestThat's not true though? You drink and chat throughout
>>224476040I’d like a german to command and conquer me if you catch my drift.Funnily enough, the guy who plays Kane is a croat.
>>224476079>>224476040thats the reason, they cant just be social.its a common thing here as well, it has to be a game or some kind of music in the background. wtf just chill and talk?
>>224477299they focus too much on the games too for that>>224477191if i say something doesnt matter what you'll say that it's not worth talking about
>>224476040It's easier and more fun to bond over a shared activity. I have trouble talking unless an activity is involved or I'm extremely drunk so I understand.
>>224476040Games are fun though no? Help you to break ze ice and socialize.
>>224478502>break ze ice with people you already knowwat
>>224478650Well If you already know the people you don't have to break ze ice, but instead you can talk and have some fün. Playing games doubles the fun. I MEAN HOW COOL IST THAT?! FREE FUN!
>>224478778you say that until someone takes it too serious
>>224478798Never happens with me and my friends. It's usually endless trash talking, but we never really argue about the game.
>>224476040>and in the end everyone focuses on the game and not on each otherI organize board game evenings and the key is to find games that keep the crowd talking. So far we've tried:1. Codenames - the game itself is cool as a game, but there's way too much "sit and be quiet". You can play maybe two rounds and then you absolutely need to switch to something else.2. Bang! - not great, not terrible. Because it's so complicated, it takes a lot of focus to even track the state of the game, but at the same time it can be somewhat conversation-friendly.3. Secret Hitler - this one's actually good. People keep yelling and screaming and it's all very fun. Some people get tired and mentally check out from the game and they can have a separate conversation unrelated to the game and nobody minds.4. Various mindless card games - these are super fun once the crowd is already drunk because they require minimal attention and nobody really cared about winning because they're shit so you're just throwing cards while having a conversation. When I play vidya with friends, IMO 2-player games with relatively short sessions are best. All those "big grand co-op" games suck ass because full focus is on the game. Meanwhile fighting games are mostly mashing buttons while talking shit. Pro Evolution Soccer is also nice because it requires even less focus so you can just press buttons while you gossip.I never really play vidya in groups bigger than 2 because either:a) it's too much chaosb) it's difficult to actually gather a group willing to play the same vidyac) when someone is not playing for a moment because there's a queue or something, they start browsing their phone
>>224478943>Secret HitlerNever heard of itLooks quite interesting
>>224478943The only games i like playing when drunk are fighting games because it's basically a digitalization of friendly male brawling, rounds are quick, fighting games are inherently awesome, you can learn as you play in case you're new and the ground floor is random button mashing, it's only 2 players so if someone doesn't want to play they can sit out, you rotate players so the waiters can progress the conversational landscape instead of everything revolving around the game and probably even more benefits. Otherwise games get in the way of talking, which is my favorite activity when drunk. Maybe there are some other games that are both not lame and not cerebral, but I don't want to play what the dub or bopl battle or even quake when drunk. Maybe halo, but I've never played it when drunk but it feels casual enough. Darts is alright too
