i hate how the "they do/don't do that in germany" is taken seriously here, and it trumps even basic common sense in a discussion, like they're some infallible godsfor example, everyone's mad about a new stupid eco friendly law where you have to pay an extra for every plastic bottle you buy, but "get it back" (it's just a coupon you can use at the store where the machine is located) if you return the empty bottle at these machines that only work half the time. most people don't bother to do it because it's 0.10€ each, but now you have bums digging through garbage to make easy money"oh but you can't criticize it because in germany they (allegedly) already do that!" well i couldn't give less of a shit about what germans do, you can take germany and your empty bottles and shove them up your asshole, if you like them so much
