>East? I thought you said weastHow was that joke translated in your language?
East? I thought you said weast
squidward:>squid>-dward from Edwardcalamardo:>calamar (squid) >-ardo from Eduardo (Edward)it's actually the perfect translation
>East ? I thought you said West
Never seen it, but should be vöst (väst + öst).
>>224477463Lol the translators didn't even try.
>>224477537Don't try to look what they did for the Krusty Krab pizza song
>>224476948https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXdi9etrvuM>east? i thought you said east westit's so stupid but then again the joke wasn't suppose to be translated
>>224477537Donald Duck comics translators here were pro at puns. Plain Awful (fictional place) became "Avskyvärld", from "avskyvärd" (despicable, loathe-worthy), with "värld" (world) instead.

>>224477689Same is true here. My favourite wordplay they have here is the margarine factory that Donald often works at is called "Kattivaara". This translates to "Cat Hill", but can also mean "Cat Danger". This is a reference to a real life scandal from the 60s when a company called Paasivaara was discovered to have been using animal corpses, cats included, to make margarine. Obviously a child won't get the joke, but it's really funny if you know the origin.
>>224476948I don't know because I don't watch this overrated and memized show.
>>224477969(69 get)In Spanish, "east" and "west" are off by just one letter ("este" vs "oeste"), so ironically it makes even more sense in Spanish, although I'm seeing they're very similar in Portuguese too.
>>224476948Osten? Ich dachte du meintest wosten
>>224478176>a company called Paasivaara was discovered to have been using animal corpses, cats included, to make margarine
>>224478176Don't know if there was a pun in the original, but changing "sarkofag" (sarcophagus) to "snarkofag" (snorophagus, from snark - snore) is another favorite.
