We also had a french chef do the kitchen nightmares adaptation.

He was involved in some weird castle orgies and then got into debt or something.
>>
Our french version chef of kitchen nightmares is a basque. He doesn't curse, but he's a former rugbyman/boxer so he scare people.

German actor Steffen Moeller.
He played in a super popular soap opera back when people actually watched TV, then voiced the entire audio component of the default German class schoolbook. Effectively, his accent is considered The Standard German by an entire generation of Poles.
I doubt anyone in Germany even heard of him.

Accurate. Never heard of him, not even a story about his popularity in Poland

Our foreign tv chef that definitely isn’t known in his home country is Ljubomir Stanisic, although at this point he may as well be considered 100% Portuguese

Ono Eriko, the author of Kocchi Muite! Miiko was(or maybe is) popular here in this country but her series isn't really that popular in Japan.

It doesn't even target indonesians or anything, it's set in japan. I think people like because it's very kids/teens-friendly and people here probably see it as a form of media tourism of Japan.

We have a brazilian woman, Cristina Cordula, who have her own show where she tell people who don't know to dress how to dress. She have a strong accent.

Somewhat unrelated but elliot rodgers stepmom (the one that humiliated him by comparing him to her son) is some B-list actress here and i've never seen her bring it up or heard journalists do it

A few Irish ones maybe
Probably a few footballers

Cornelis Vreeswijk is all I can think of. Feels pretty native since he came here when he was twelve and spoke Swedish without an accent though. He tried to have a career in the Netherlands as well, but apparently he sounded old-fashioned.
