it largely depends on how many chemicals are added to the product. traditional tobacco is usually worse with this, but that could easily change. more natural tobacco products are probably much better than your common cigarette.
How did Americans do it? Even in my own family of doctors and uni professors it's still impossible to convince them to stop smoking
