Who would choose china? Even Chinese pick Japan
>>
>>224498321
Japan has a very developed infrastructure, and mature economy, but living in Japan is difficult due to the social pressure and rules.
It's very easy to live and integrate in Chinese society. It's a low context society with very few social norms and rules. So I would rather live in China even though I speak Japanese.
>>
Life in this country at the current stage is ok but Japan is lagging behind technologically and there is no prospect of hoping for economic growth. I haven't been to China yet, but people interested in the latest software or AI would find living there attractive. One thing I can say is that Westerners' view of China is stuck 20 years in the past.
>>
Probably Japan, I bet China has more things to see, but it looks too hardcore in competitiveness and work culture, even compared to their neighbor
>>
Japan seems nicer to Americans

Im not a retarded weeb so if i was forced to choose, china, at least my wage won't be through the ground 10 years after started living there while being degraded to 3rd rate citizen, not to mention it would be beyond beyond cucked living as a staff worker on disneyland

If you like hot springs, Japan is the place for you.
Hot springs are everywhere in Japan. I’d recommend them to anyone suffering from neuralgia.

Other than that, to be honest, it depends on what you’re looking for.
>>
>>224501256
It's the opposite. Westerners think China ISN'T a third world shithole because they saw a tiktok of lightbulbs on buildings. When in reality it is Brazil with lights

the chinese are pathetic, only caring about money and safety
the malays/indians are pathetic, importing minority communism bullshit from the west
the politicians only care about the rich, and are too privileged to care about anything beyond the economy

and because there is no free speech, it will never get better
there will never be any discussion on how to gain back dignity for the human soul

they are all afraid of change, they cannot imagine a better world

>AI surveillance state
>The government has now established a system to ensure that even elderly people selling food on the street pay their taxes properly.
China is a country with highly advanced technology.
With surveillance cameras popping up everywhere, it’s probably impossible to evade taxes.
>>
>>224504335

I can't speak much to either. I've just heard that Taiwan is like Japan, but more laid back and tropical, so if you don't like the uptight nature of Japan itself you go to the chill tropical version.
>>
>>224506509
Please tell me specifically what you found to be too formal.
>>
>>224498321
China. Don't let their cartoons fool you, Japan is a hellish place to live. Ridiculous work culture, imperial aspirations, highly regimented social roles and norms, and blatantly xenophobic if you're a foreigner.
Oh also the cartoons that are fooling most people also feature highly sexualized depictions of characters that are way too young... and art is always a reflection of the artist. Just let that sink in.
Not saying China is perfect, but it wins in comparison.
>>
>>224506467
Yeah it totally isn't
>Jailed if you criticize the government
>Jailed if you criticize corrupt officials and their nepotistic children
>Permanent mandate of heaven by blocking all rebellions from forming
>Slippery slope to complete worker domination, because they can no longer fight against capital

Even if the Chinese wants to reach spiritual gnosis, the government will enforce capital productivity on them lmao
>>
>>224505734
Ok, I'll stop the bullying.
I'm not really planning to move, I like my country too much for that.
I was just speaking in hypotheticals.

Seriously though I really don't understand what normies love about
>osaka, kyoto, tokyo
They're overcrowded, urbanistic hellscapes to me.
Ok to visit, but terrible to actually live in.
>>
>>224506841
It’s a wonderful country where only the elite—those loyal to the government—can reap the benefits, isn’t it?
It’s interesting how healthcare, in particular, varies depending on a person’s social rank.
However, because of this, it’s a huge nuisance that wealthy people living in rural China are flocking to Japan to receive medical treatment.
>>
>>224506623

I haven't been to either it's just what I keep hearing from travelers/vloggers. I would like to visit both. I understand a more neurotic, orderly culture like Japan has pros and cons. The obvious pros: extremely safe, clean, organized. The cons: you guys complain about people acting the slightest bit out of line or character. It's overactive but it does what it does, I'm not sure how I'd do in a more neurotic environment.

>>
>>224507388
where do you think japan is going then in the next 30 years?
Can the fertility rate be reversed?
you think japan is going to drop your population to 10million or something?
>>
>>224507495
Even in Japan, where price increases have been more moderate than in Europe and the United States, inflation has accelerated in recent years, so I think it’s becoming harder to live there with each passing year.
I wonder if the population will decline by about 20 million, bringing it down to around 100 million?

Japan
The fact that people can get into such a big dispute over reclining seats on the Shinkansen just goes to show what a peaceful country it really is.
In countries facing far more serious troubles, something like this wouldn't even come up as a topic of conversation.
>>
>>224519886
I've been to both, it's literally the opposite. Chinese are still in their "Oh you're a foreigner? That's so cool, I've never met one before!" phase. Japan is in their "Oh you're a foreigner? Get out of my country." phase.

>>224498426
Agree on this though, Thais found the right balance. Foreigners aren't new there anymore but they're still nice anyway just as a matter of social/business practice and good nature. Thais are the best Asians by far.
>>
>>224520037
>Chinese are still in their "Oh you're a foreigner? That's so cool, I've never met one before!" phase.
There are enough people that there are those who also love foreigners but they're not gonna get you a job and it's mostly people who've been told you're a bad guy.
>>
>>224520071
Which cities did you go to? For China I was in Chengdu, Shenzhen, Xian, Shanghai and Beijing and for Japan I was in Yokohama, Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo and Kyoto. They were all nice and helpful in the Chinese cities while in Japan they were polite but noticeably colder and more reserved on average.
>>
>>224500640
Chinese still have a fuck ton of rules, they're just not as austically polite and rule abiding as Japanese. Just for example, all social relations involve an intricate accounting of favours and gifts given and received. And you absolutely cannot integrate as a laowai.
>>
>>224506820

>>
>>224522310

I have to admit that the Chinese I met in Korea were way more open and fun to be with than the Japanese.
It's funny because almost all the people from the big three (USA, China, Russia) were better than any other country, except Spain.
>>
>>224522327
You guys all seem to talk so much more than me irl. Still vibe wise yea Chinese were cool.
>>
>>224522327
>more open and fun to be with than the Japanese
That's been my experience. I expected them to be like North Koreans so I was surprised by how chill and worldly they are. I even asked if they were Taiwanese because I thought maybe that might explain it but nope, they were mainlanders. They weren't even offended by my question, meanwhile Taiwanese act like pieces of shit if you ask if they're Chinese. I hope we abandon them, fuck those island cunts.
