>>224505111Idk about ex-USSR countries but we surely never visited Israel just for the generic beach holidays, that's what we have Croatia/Greece/Turkey for. Those who go to Israel, go there specifically for what only Israel has to offer (Holy Land) and it's often more of a pilgrimage than a regular tour, so it's irreplaceable with anything else. It's kinda similar to why Israelis have trips to Poland and won't change it for any other destination.

desu I never ever realized that Israel could be considered a viable beach holiday destination but actually why it couldn't? It must be just a local bias, here just they don't advertise Israel as such so no one goes there for that, same like people don't go to Algeria even though it has the same beach like Tunisia, which is already a big tourist destination. Hard to say why some countries are touristic and some aren't.
