The dilapidated administrative centre for a Soviet oblast?
Some outer suburbs of Pyongyang?
A far-flung Siberian mining colony?

No! Canberra, capital of Australia - GDP US$2 trillion.
Suffering.

At least it's always sunny
German cities look even worse than this and are shrouded in eternally grey weather.

Why do people post this as if Australia was ever going build some Mediterranean styled city and not an ugly Anglo one?

You can always move to Abuja. It's probably the best city to live in subsahara Africa

I like my fantasies to be somewhat plausible and I just don't see a dense and traditional looking city being built in 20th century rural Australia, the best you could hope for are a few governmental buildings constructed before modernism becomes popular like in Ottawa.

It looks decent and orderly, what more could you want.

Political instability plagues most of the country and jihadists are almost a protected class in the muslim regions

I was going to joke that I need more soviet era aesthetics here but this really is perfect. If you dropped this into eastern russia i couldn't tell you the difference.

Children in the north go to Islamist "schools" where they learn to recite the Qur'an and nothing more

who do you blame the current events on? Colonialism? Mudslimes? Your thoughts on the Igbo Biafra Independence movement
>>
>>224536172
No single party is to blame for the current state of things, there are some major players who did a bit more bad than the rest but everyone messed up. The British failed by merging the two protectorates, everyone in the post-colonial era failed because of tribalism and greed. I don't fault Biafra for wanting to leave this dysfunctional amalgamation of a country that has repeatedly committed crimes against them and passively tries to oppress them.
