The climate is the single most important thing for quality of life. Sunshine and warmth literally make or break a place, that’s why the average person in Brazil, Mexico, Turkey Egypt ,the Philippines and India is substantially happier than the average person in Canada, Sweden, Finland and Iceland, despite the latter being better off in virtually every material and economic aspect. It’s better to be broke and work minimum wage in San Diego than to make 200K a year in Minneapolis.

If you don’t agree with this, just look at the thousands people from cold climates spend to visit warm climates during their vacations, while people from warm climates never do that. Also alcoholism and drug abuse rates are higher in colder climates.

Counterpoint: you can't take your clothes off in warm places. In cold places, you can wear more clothes.

It's not about temperature, it's about sunlight and climat has no impact on the angle of Earth in relation to the Sun

Not only they are the happiest but also the wealthiest, not because of sun or lack of sun but because of water, water in the regions and rain from the sky. Water brings wealth and ease of life and happiness. tldr: OP is full of shit

I don't buy this bullshit statistic
Finns and Scandis in general take SSRIs like candy to treat their depression and have massive rates of alcohol abuse
Happy people don't become antidepressant dependent alcoholics
How did this bullshit statistic even get measured? It gets posted around so often.
I'd wager that a farmer in Angola, who gets lots of sunlight every day, has kids and believes in God is much happier than some random Finn.

Maybe that farmer would be happier if he had SSRIs and alcohol?

Wrong, it's the people in your life and the good you do.

I used to think this until I became an experienced man in life. I realised the extreme heat and humidity totally cancels it out, you can end up walking around town just as miserable but only in a different way. 2 hours under the sun in Philippines exploring the villages and I just felt like going home, 80% humidity is hellish. No energy, sticky and dirty feeling.
A cool day with a blue sky is what makes you happy
