Today I learnt how Bosnian muslims were born. Basically Croats were at a certain time split between orthodox and catholic and fought each other (lol). Orthodox Croats lost and they had to retreat. They could go to Serbia but because they apparently already hated Serbians, they decided to take shelter in the mountain of Bosnia. A few years later Ottomans invaded and these orthodox croats decided to convert en masse to Islam because they were discriminated by both Serbians for being Croat and Catholic Croats for being Orthodox. The absolute state of Balkanoids

No they were Bogumilist

>>224536237
my albanian history teacher taught me that way

>albanian history teacher
should be illegal

>>224536237
>The "Bogomil theory" — that Bosnian Muslims are essentially converted Bogomils — has been largely discredited by modern scholarship. The Bosnian Church was too small and too suppressed by 1463 to account for the scale of conversion

Slavic tribes that settled in Bosnia were mostly Serbian tribes

nothing much is known about Bosnia until the 10th century AD, unlike say modern Slovenia and Austria, where Slavic settlement in the wake of the Lombard migration has been mapped out very precisely based on the time of extinction of the Roman bishoprics.

>clear Bosnian phenos
what are bosnian phenos and how are they different from normal croats or from sebs?
>>
>>224536996
I worked with Bosnians, there is no difference between most Bosnians and Serbs, also as Ottomans retreated from territories they lost, they settled Muslims from those territories into places like Bosnia to populate it more with pro-Ottoman people. Lot of so called Bosniaks are not even from Bosnia
>>

in the Slovenian popular imagination, that typical Bosnian would be Bosnian Serb immigrant comedian Branko Đurić. Slovenes generally believe that all Bosnians have long noses, dark skin and jet black straight hair.
>>
>>224537166
they werent bogomils they had their own bosnian church and bosnian kingdom like serbians and croatians had their own kingdom
what is there to not understand
>>
>>224537125
Even if that were true, which it is not, it is still not the answer. Religion is not the same as nation. The existence of a third religion does not mean the existence of a third nation, separate from Croats and Serbs. Bosnian = regional designation = a person who lives by the Bosna River.
>>
>>224538641
it is true and if it's not for religion there is nothing that seperates you from bosnians or serbians (which i agree with anyways)
why do you think yugoslavia was a thing?
>>
>>224538841
>if it's not for religion there is nothing that seperates you from bosnians or serbians
my teachers said serbs and croats were distinct people when the byzantines invited them into the balkans promising them land in order to fight avars
>>
>>224538841
Croats and Serbs were of the same religion until the 13th century. Separate nations, like Denmark and Sweden, for example. What separates them and they are of the same religion? Bosnia was part of Croatia, later when it became a banate/kingdom it was a Catholic country inhabited by Croats. The graves of the 'Bosnian' kings are in Croatian monasteries. During the occupation, some Croats and Serbs converted to Islam because of lower taxes. The same as in every country occupied by the Turks.

Das rite. Google 'white croatia' and 'white serbia'.

There are non Muslim Bosnians thoever

>What separates them and they are of the same religion?
physical distance
the same thing that seperated danes and swedes in your example
no swede or dane is gonig around saying that norway is a fake country it is just a geographic destination they are actually swedes etc.
they were the same ethnicity and got divided by political entities formed in middle ages which was because the regions were simply far away from eachother
scandinavian countries also have a dialect continuum similar to south slavs where a village in croatia next to serbia would have almost exact same dialect as a village across the border compared to a village in the other side of croatia

if you believe norway is a real country then you would believe bosnia is a real country as well

Bosnia was never part of Croatia, some small parts of it used to be ruled by Croatian rulers, but it was always a separate entity, expect for it's early phase when it was one of Serbian lands
