While one scan ran like 24 hours ago I had some brainstorming on an idea of a pseudo-brute file recovery where MFT is mainly non-existing, let's say 20-30% files are recovered, checked, they are perfect. Rest is hanging in the air, since many many clusters to pick from and too much to brute. Along with certain file formats with checksum maybe, many things could help to pick candidate clusters for a file which is not complete yet. Date, filename, format/estimated size. Knowing the state of other reserved cluster chunks, could guess or prioritize candidates better than full random. Starting with big files like videos, analyzing its header/metadata...once it turns out to be put together, as a secondary MFT - let's say in boolean - can flag clusters/cluster chunks to exclude from turther analysis and speed up the process for remaining files. Let's say you have a broken jpeg like picrel. Youknow the dimension, you can assume its visual complexity from the valid part, you have metadata....lets say it possibly needs 9-12 clusters, so chunks over that can be excluded as a start, knowing what kind of data of a jpg block would result in what color/what pattern, you can even narrow down chunk data further, and if you use VRAM as - even non visual - data, along with CUDA cores, sort of a semi brute goes pretty fast. These trickeries combined can do miracles. But my brainstorm was years too late, there are similar solutions like my idea, even if not exactly that complex.>lol 4chan didn't accept this file at first because it's indeed corrupt. Disk Drill recovery on the RAW image got a lot of shit like this, lost filenames, directories, structures, 90% of the data recovered is corrupt. And those shiteaters asks for money to pay.
