I’ve been casually “struggling” with the Lomanoha segmenter part for a while now. SSIM still doesn’t work the way it should, but by forcing the given segmentation, the “DJ” loop is already quite entertaining. I also realized that the ping-pong loop is neither worthwhile nor necessary (playing a section back and forth, skipping the start and end frames when going backwards — that was the beginning, then linear, then “quadratic”, “logarithmic”2 slowdown to X% (25 is the sweet spot) over Y time (actually calculated in frames, nearest based on time and fps, min 3, max half of the segmented video). I wasted way too much time clowning around with this “elastic” ping-pong effect; it’s neither aesthetic nor enjoyable no matter how I parameterize it. And during slowdowns I also threw in frame interpolation, which in this case is terribly slow — and crap.

The cool mode is the intra-segment SSIM-based frame flagger with arbitrary tolerance and minimum time (fps and frame count) distance. That’s where I’ll apply not only frame interpolation — for a few (2–8) frames — and implement a fast, aesthetic, non-disturbing visual transition via fade out/fade in. I already have it, only for some reason the interpolated frames are identical to A when going AB; I fucked something up somewhere. And I still need to hack on the SSIM similarity tolerance. I already have a custom checksum that compares a simplified version of the frames, which makes it damn fast — and it needs to be. Max 64 pixels (depending on whether width or height is larger, scaled to that, the rest #000000)
Let’s say we have a full HD video segment, 30 seconds at 60 fps is already 1800 frames. Suppose the loopable from-to frame numbers need to be at least 1 second apart. How trivial would it be to compare 1800-120 × 1800-60 frames with CV2/SSIM at that resolution. Instead, downscaled to max 64, 4-bit color depth, with (100-original_tolerance%)^4 tolerance, the simplified frames get a kind of checksum array. Based on that, frames similar to the given ones go into a kind of “candidate” list. There’s still plenty to fine-tune, but this is the direction and it’s damn good, fast, and resource-light. I split the 64≥x:64≥y image into 8×8 “checksum” columns, and that’s where I am now. Roadmap: separate 8×8 matrix with RGB normalization, separate grayscale; the latter gets a Lanczos-like softened “pixel summing” to avoid flickering, and I “normalize” the given checksum’s 8×8 grayscale minimum to #000000 and maximum to #FFFFFF. Separate row and column summing allows tolerating arbitrary column and row mismatches — say default 1-1, but it’ll be adjustable. And maybe I should also reduce the grayscale matrix to 4-bit. A bunch of tests will decide. So based on these, frames get candidates from the following frame set, which I can then thrash with SSIM at original resolution, also grayscale and min-max stretched. Anyway, it’s exciting and fun, especially if it actually works later.
I've mentioned earlier that the whole thing would run completely offline, but webcam, even audio input information will also be usable as evaluation. Of course it can be ignored and overridden, but my plan — in default operation — is that the given video section, or the loop segment mentioned above, also gets a kind of own score. Repeated playback can improve this value, but it can also simply be modified by hand even on the fly, with some key, e.g. +/- on the numpad. But basically, with arbitrary importance scaling X, it would automatically get evaluation reinforcement from your webcam/mic, and on top of that, in a secondary layer (enjoying arbitrary amplitude, or even turned off) the currently preferred things would provide a temporary stretch/distortion for a given time. Proper fetishization won’t happen for now, because that would require tagging; for now just the weighted/preferred heatmap of the given video section, which in a second round gets a temporary, current value change with larger amplitude. This part can wait; I should slowly start tinkering with the basics of image- and sound-based control. That will be the cake, so to speak — one of the souls of the Lomanoha project. I already have it in my head, the only question is implementing it and whether the concept works. In theory it’ll work great, if only I were skilled enough for the execution — which I’m not.

We made fun out of him/them. Memes edited, poems, suno.com was recently new shit, and me along 1-2 other anons stepped up against his spam, especially the "blessing" what he posted ritually until I've made it included on the spam blacklist. I'm not 100% sure but that's around when he went full sociopath on me. Everything is there in the archives. He had spammed lies, larped then refered into posts like its mine. For a while he was lame and was easy to point out. Some of his accusation points on stuff that's actually belong to me, but he tryhard turning inside out projects stuff what's not true or straight up fills out the story with lies.Weeks ago I had a period of being fed up with his accusations and line by line I've fair and square debunked his copy-pasted bullshit. Since then he stopped posting that list. There is one or two lines hidden between his lies which are - as mentioned above - truth but turned inside out. Like the one night when I walked my dog, 2 random gypsy girls asked me for escorting them through the dark, stray dog infested gypsy zone, pitch black night. And I did, then said goodbye and went home. As telling the story I refered those late night wanderer gypsy girls as - by lowest guess - 16 years old, but can't really tell, I didn't know them.
