solo-travel was one of the loneliest experiences ive ever had in my life. it wasn't all bad. every day i went out and had experiences as planned. i wasn't expecting to make friends (although i had my fair share of casual interactions with randoms), i only expected a change of scenery and a foreign culture to refresh me. i'm quite used to being alone, so i didn't think it would bother me. but by the end i felt so excruciatingly isolated and suicidal that now even looking at pictures of the city i stayed in creates a visceral reaction
>>
the problem of solo traveling is the night. during the day you have a lot of things to do, but at night you feel miserable.

This is why I don't solo travel, I just know I'd be at my phone in my hotel room half the time. Even if I went and did something I just assume that the lack of experiencing something together and talking about it would make me forget the thing by the next day.

You did something the majority of people would be afraid of and would and never will attempt. Be proud to have conquered this paralysis and that you are capable of something most are not despite it being scary and not comfortable

now that I'm older, I just dont see the point of traveling anymore.

sorry, meant for >>224674547 as well. Why are you awake at 4am IN GERMANY?
>>
>>224674574
Just woke up 1hr ago. Went to sleep like 6pm since I have the flu and sleep a lot currently + weekend
>>
>>224674568
sorry to hear that, are you drinking or something? I was drinking some whiskey earlier today and now I have a terrible headache
>>224674599
hope you feel better. Now that I think about it, it would be nice to travel to Germany to experience one Christmas over there. In my mind you guys have those german christmas breads with dried fruits and some hot chocolate with those cold winters, seems comfy

Iktfb, your main interactions are at shops, waiting in line, "excuse me you dropped x" etc, and walking around seeing nothing but couples and families does hurt somewhat.
Tour groups are also boomerpilled, and Contiki tier tours are just zoomers looking for an excuse to drink and party which can be done back at home anyway.
I found it helpful to look for events like fun runs, like 5km or so to be able to run freely through the landmarks of the city and get encouragement from strangers around you. Things like that make it a good vibe because everyone, including non-participants, are just cheering you on and are more than happy to interact with you x100 for the time you're there. Even stuff like finding your way to the start line/village is an extra opportunity for interaction you'd otherwise not have on bog-standard arranged events.
Idk what else there could be outside of fun runs though

I've never traveled alone, but yeah, I don't know what I'd actually do or how I'd react to it if I did.
I can imagine that you can visit historical or popular places during the day, and during the night you can maybe go out to a restaurant and try the local cuisine, or go for a night walk, or go buy a souvenir, observe the differences in your own country and the country you're visiting, etc.
If you know the language reasonably well, you can maybe try to strike a conversation with someone who is more open to it.

But like >>224674547 said, you already did great by adventuring alone, it takes guts. Besides, at the very least it gives you a nice conversation topic with other people.
Hope you have fun on your next travels.

This is true. I took the bald and bankrupt pill and worked overseas and traveled to a few places. It was a nightmare, made me an alcoholic which I still am to this day.
>>
>>224674419
Because travelling is stupid and for women

The idea of tourism is just a projection of consumer reality onto people
You only went because society told you "travelling is good for the soul o Algo"

You are not actually immersing in another culture, or learning anything wise. you are just there to see the shit you saw on Instagram
How do you widen your gnostis when even the talibans will probably drink matcha lattes in their newly opened shopping mall cafes in a few years

Read a book from the 1800/1900s, it will transport you to a place far further, than any globohomo modernity fagshit city

Not everyone is built for solo travel.

I primarily solo travel, and I often want to keep social interactions to a minimum. This isn't particularly hard in yurop as no one cares about tourists here and don't care for chatting with them in English.

Never have I felt lonely when traveling, rather the opposite. In japan I had to start avoiding places where people would start talking to me because I was so tired of having the same conversations with people simply because I can converse in nip. In tallinn I toured the place with some korean woman I met in a restaurant, bailed on her after a few hours after I felt completely exhausted from social interaction, and then awkwardly ran into her again on the ferry back (and was stuck with her for 2 more hours)

Traveling is only fun if you do it with someone or you travel to see someone. Only times I ever traveled abroad was either with my family or to see an online friend. If you're an incel like me it makes even less sense for you to travel
>>
>>224674419
For me, solo travel can be great depending on where you go. In a very social environment, or somewhere focused on famous landmarks and attractions, it can sometimes feel lonely because there’s so much you’re experiencing with other people around you. But if you’re somewhere remote with beautiful scenery, being completely on your own can actually be a great and introspective experience.
>>
I hate going to the grocery store alone, never mind travel.
>>
This is only problem for Amerimutt normies who can't go five minutes without blabbing about some inane shit to anyone near them and who are terrified of going to the movie theater alone.

Average foid "introvert"

normalfags wearing anon skin suits

I only travel solo, and pretty much only for work. But since I am solo I can always go and see sights and I can go at my own pace (much faster than with a group), and only see things I myself find interesting.

also wherever I go I can incelwalk in a new location it is wonderful. I often rent some sort of vehicle to drive around and see more things that look interesting on the map or from a distance.

then at the end of the day I can buy some junk food and watch anime at the hotel.

>In tallinn I toured the place with some korean woman I met in a restaurant
how the fuck do you "meet at a restaurant"? you were actively looking for socialization, no other explanation.

the more time I spend on this website the more I think introversion and loneliness here are largely performative, the vast majority of posters here are normalfag cattle who spend most of their lives actively seeking out other people and interacting with them. then someone like me who actually lives the loner lifestyle in all the memes comes along and is entirely out of place.
>>
>>224675998
stfu fakecel poser. if you need other cattle with you when traveling you clearly don't understand what it means to be incel.
>>
>>224675776
im a chicanx autist and it worked for me most times, but I also don't feel lonely like OP. its just that potential travel partners either want to sightsee or do nightlife, but never both. going at my own pace is easier
>>
>>224677251
You can be an introvert without being a lonely incel loser though. That's the whole point, I'm by myself most of the time out of choice because I am an introvert.
>>
>>224677380
introvert means someone who is comfortable being alone or would prefer to be inside chilling, they can still have lots of friends.
the internet twisted it into being a socially awkward and anxious loser weirdo with zero homies
>>
>>224677380
you wouldn't be "meeting people at a restaurant" if you were actually introverted.
>>
>>224677455
Not him but of course I might. Sometimes I feel like meeting people and having sex.

>>
>>224674419
Weird I liked it. You do need to pony up for some theater performances and things here and there, which usually places me with older crowds at night. I like the GPS-based audio guide apps too, they're like going on small-group tours but way cheaper, less corny and you can go off course if you want. In person tours are okay too if you want to talk to people from all over (basically they are normie /int/). And if you're not drinking or buying sex you just go to sleep early to get up early and run or even hike.
>>
>>224675998
SomeONE I could see, I think the optimal number of people in a travel group could be either 1 or 2 but it is definitely not 3+
