>>224775572Colombia is a turbo shit hole that has been at war for like 50 years, people there don't hesitate to risk their lives for 2000$
>>224775572Easy money
>>224775572When i go to any cam porn site, it's full of Colombians too.Recently a zesty Colombian was arrested in Romania for spying for the russkies
We have a low intensity conflict that means that our troops have actual real IRL combat experience. Also, our military has received extensive military training from both USA and israel, and because of that is so good our army actually helps to train other militaries, and even american soldiers come here to train. Also, other armies usually pay 10X what the army and local jobs pay.So you usually have a surplus of high quality trained soldiers with a really crappy local job market.
>>224775572russians kill those rats very well in ukr. theres even women merchaniers from latin amerikkkka helping ukies.
>>224775930was he cute?
>>224775763Great read. I never expected to find they had a 5 decade long insurgency in their own borders, talk about a prime way to train counter-insurgents.>>224775950Is FARC still alive in Colombia to any extent? Where will the paramilitaries and private security companies get their usual protection money from now that their primary threat (employer) is gone?
>>224776291FARC disasembled in like 2015.What we now have are basically narco gangs and the ELN which haven't done any agreement yet with the goverment.
>>224776364Thanks for the first question. What about the second? FARC were huge iyc and combined with narcos and other opportunistic groups/militias they probably made for a massive market for private security contractors with employment in the 10,000s of armed and trained men. The biggest threat is now gone and with it a major portion of the private protection business model. Who will keep those men fed? Who will line their officers' wallets?
>>224776730they're just criminal gangs with some marxist skin.
>>224776940You make it sound like it's not that serious desu. I imagined your situation as more like South Africa where private security is so dominant their forces vastly outnumber all police and military forces COMBINED (high crime rates) + some speical commie narco insurgency for flavor. Sounds like you're doing fine-ish instead desu desu
>>224777240well, most of the conflict is in like remote areas and random villages in the middle of nowhere. Most of the time life is normal, except you see the news and there's like a weekly combat where 2 soldiers died like every week. It's a war in the sense is a real conflict, but is like 5 soldiers dead every 2 months.
>>224776291>>224777240>Is FARC still alive in Colombia to any extent?Very much, don't listen to the other guy. Sure, the proper FARC signed a peace deal, but a good chunk of "dissidents" didn't agree and reorganized. The successor groups to the FARC still have deep criminal and logistic networks and constantly commit terrorist attacks in the territory they control, even if they're aren't as centralized and don't have a political project as defined as the former FARC.And right-wing cartels like the Gulf Clan are very serious issue as well.>you're doing fine-ishSure, as long as you don't live close to the no-go zones and ignore the high crime rates.
>>224778096the average middle income colombian in the major cities have no issues related to the war.The war only affects peasants and negros in the choco and arauca and other fourth world forgotten places.
>>224777240You're talking to cris, his village was sieged with an helicopter not too long ago while he was busy shitposting on 4chan
>>224779673What manner of fortification in a Colombian village could possibly require a helicopter to siege it?
