I once went with a psychiatrist who told me to practice transcendental meditation in addition to taking some pills.But yeah, they do kinda tend to be more hands-off than psychologists. They're more there for serious, long-term issues that definitely require some kind of medicinal treatment.And yeah, you're right. No amount of gay therapies or pills is somehow gonna turn a guy into an Über-Chad who's hyper-extroverted, smart, and capable of pulling pussy everywhere. Neither psychology nor psychiatry are really equipped to deal with existential issues or the question of what people are meant to live for. A professional with a big, long couch isn't necessarily gonna know about how to make a person fit better into their community, or how to make their life more meaningful in a deeply personal way.
