My slavic brain is simply not wired in that specific way to require the verb 'be/is/are'. I see absolutely no difference in 'I am here/I here, Where are you/where you'. I know that it's always required and omission of it is always produces gibberish and a caveman language but still knowing the formal rules doesn't actually help to 'feel' the need for it.

The basic instructions are to watch lots of videos and avoid traditional studying. I've logged over 600 hours of Spanish input at this point, and if nothing else, I can say that you can accomplish quite a lot with just "passive" input. Also, if you primary goal is to be able to understand colloquial speech, it makes sense to focus your study on listening to colloquial speech.

It feels a bit bittersweet to learn that AI is indeed very useful for learning. I set my AI assistant up to practice dialogues with me that are compatible with my level in a specific course that I'm doing. It also automatically provides mnemonic devices and etymological connections between other words to aid in the retention of new vocabulary. I'd never used AI much before this.
I have been improving in Latin a lot lately, but it’s hard to meet 2 hours a day with a difficult job. I think my end point is a point where reading is confident and fluent enough that I can simply have a reading habit that happens to be in Latin instead of full spectrum language study. At that point, though I can basically read French, I simply do not see the point in learning French, since I have little interest in it that is non-literary, which means I would study mainly by reading, which means I’d be doing literally the same activity I could do with Latin instead.Comparatively, Japanese has a lot of domains I could swap to the language without cutting down my latin-literature time. Spanish too (conversation as the goal). So my question is, even if French would be way easier than Spanish (and many times easier than Japanese) and even if I can mostly fluently read old french letters already, should I even bother?
