>>225012715No. Yiddish isn't a German dialect. It's a separate Germanic language that developed from medieval German, with a lot of Hebrew/Aramaic and later Slavic influence. It started in Central Europe, but as Ashkenazi Jews migrated East into Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine etc, Yiddish became their main everyday language there. Meanwhile German Jews switched to standard german, so Western Yiddish mostly died out and Eastern Yiddish became the dominant form

Least culturally enriched, as you call it, are probably Steglitz-Zehlendorf and Treptow-Köpenick. Berlin has a lot of Vietnamese people, they're kinda everywhere and run all kinds of East Asian shops and restaurants. You'll have Vietnamese people running Chinese or Japanese places. They're probably most concentrated in Lichtenberg. Did you plan to visit Berlin one day or are you just curious?
