>>225016011there are two groups of albanians, you have the ghegs(mostly muslims and some catholics) who inhabit the northern part of albania and all of kosovo and you have tosks(muslims and orthodox) who inhabit the southern part of albania. the albanian language in albania was standardized based on the tosk dialect because hoxha liked it more whereas the albanian used in kosovo is the gheg dialect which is seen as more old fashioned among albos. the albanians in albania suffered under hoxha who did his best to modernise albania by prioritising education and by mercilessly wiping out any tribal and religious identities that he saw as divisive and old fashioned. the albanians in kosovo on the other hand suffered under tito who never really bothered to do any of that and instead opted to just put serb and montenegrin officials to rule over them who didnt give a fuck about said albanians and often actively went out of their way to screw with them if they could. because of this an albanian from albania will almost always be better educated, more secular and overall more normal than a kosovar who will always be the opposite. this is also why albania is a relatively normal balkan country and a tourist destination whereas kosovo is a shithole and organ harvesting destination.
