This is a global thing because of the pandemic btw. Pretty much everywhere halted then shot up out of nowhere. Imagine if you invested in NVIDIA right at the end of the pandemic? It went from like 6 dollars a share to 225 in 6 years.

It's not a lie, you don't understand how GDP works.
GDP = Consumption (consumer spending) + Government Spending + Investment + Net Exports

If the government spends more, GDP goes up. If everyone stops investing in the stock market and hides their money underneath mattresses, GDP goes down. And so on, and so forth.
