Huh? It's more likely their "western" name that they randomly took fancy to. SEA Chinks have names like Chong Ah Beng but go by "Alex". These monikers are not their legal names.

I see it quite often than chinamen from HK and Singapore introduce themselves using some western name but does that name have any legal standing in the post-colonial system or is them literally just picking a random nickname like if I went to japan and said they have to call me kaminari ryuunosuke
