What are poles like in Lithuania?

Most are russified, no one interacts with them much and they don't like talking to us believe me I tried when I still lived in Wilno.

>>225046743The percentages in that map are rather confusing and make it out that there are more of them but it's far less. The rest of the regions are very self-explanatory, Klaipėda (formerly Memel) is a port town so a lot of the Russians came from the MEMESSR they mostly live in the southern part of the city. North west is rather interesting due to two different historical reasons, the left most side is Zarasai (formerly Novoalexandrovsk) and surrounding regions they had Russians living there for hundreds of years because they were either exiled or came themselves due to being old believers. The right side is Visaginas (formely Sniečkus) it is a hodge podge of Homo Sovieticus from all the 15 republics, Lithuania being more aggrarian just couldn't have the specialists needed to operate a nuclear power plant and most of them were trained in Russia anyway and came from closed towns like Zelenogorsk (formerly Krasnoyarsk-45). Poles self explanatory it was part of the PLC and later annexed by Poland, Vilnius (formerl Wilno) didn't even have much Lithuanians living there, mostly Poles and Jews it changed after WWII. Hope this wall of text satisfies some curiosity.

>>225047233This topic is highly politicized in Lithuania so all I can tell you is to take what Lithuanians tell you about them with a grain of salt. It's a very mixed community with many different people with different backgrounds and attitudes to Lithuania/Poland/Russia. I can't be more specific here because it will get political and again, I don't want to say things that could be misused for propaganda purposes afterwards but Lithuanians aren't completely honest with what they say and what image of that community they present to the world. Both Lithuanians and Poles are partially to blame for these tensions, like it usually is in countries where there is a sizeable national minority that doesn't want to fully assimilate and merge with the dominant ethnicity. Generally the whole problem is about that for many Lithuanians the fact that Poles don't want to become Lithuanians makes them bad in their eyes. Sadly, it will take decades until the ethnic relations in eastern Europe with traditional minorities start resembling those in western Europe
