Did you know that Sushi is technically a Norwegian dish? In Japan Salmons faced discrimination. They were regarded as a filthy fish. Too dirty to eat! But then Norway created their first fish farms and created 100% parasite-free Salmons, which you could eat raw. This horrified the Japanese initially and it took a long time for their attitude to change.

So yeah. Salmon Sushi (Nagiri), the good one, the most delicious Sushi is actually a Norwegian dish.

I thought Germans had relatively higher IQ.
Are you retarded or non-German?

Damn thanks for telling me I never knew that. I did hear that Korea really invented sushi only they call it gimbap and Chinese invented bonsai trees they just call them penjiang. Seems like next we'll find out that origami really comes from Thailand or smth haha

Salmon was considered a more lower class fish, not high cuisine, and it was considered absolutely horrifying to the Japanese to eat Salmon raw. Cope, Seethe and Dilate. The Norwegians invented the concept of eating Salmon raw as an actual dish and cuisine. Therefore it's Norwegian cuisine and not Japanese cuisine.

Try to have pride in something other than food!

In the Kyushu region of southern Japan, salmon has been a favorite since ancient times, and there are numerous local dishes featuring it.
Okinawa also has traditional salmon dishes that have been around for hundreds of years.
>>
>>225158555
Those don't count, they aren't even connected to Japan. It's like saying poi is a traditional American dish just because hawaiians make it.

Salmon bones have been excavated from Jomon-period sites across eastern and northern Japan, with some dating back over 15,000 years. So much for salmon being an unfamiliar fish to the Japanese.

And you're moving the goalposts, OP only said salmon was considered a low class fish for peasants and wasn't used for sushi until proper freezing technology was invented both of which are true

宮崎伝統の塩引き鮭を知らないのか?
In Miyazaki, in the Kyushu region, salted and dried salmon is very famous.
It has even been featured in a famous painting.

Seriously, why are you making this up? Every Japanese person knows you can't catch salmon in warm southern waters. You claim Shiohiki-zake is a traditional food of Miyazaki, but it's actually a famous specialty of Niigata (like in Murakami City). Stop trolling.

Hello private Smith.

the copes are becoming unreal, every country on earth with access to salmon figured that out even native americans knew to at least smoke it

Did you guys know that Spain invented pizza?

The difficulty in attributing the invention of pizza comes from the fact that since ancient times there have been lots of similar recipes of flatbread with toppings on it.
So, when exactly did "flatbread with toppings" become pizza? Depending on where you draw the line you get different countries or people.
If you define pizza as "flatbread with toppings on it AND a tomato sauce" then that was invented by Spain.

Spain was the very first European nation to have access to tomatoes. We were the ones who introduced tomatoes into Europe and the first ones to use them.
The reason why Southern Italy made pizza was because back then it was under the control of Spain and were using tomatoes we brought from the Americas.
There are many recipes in Spain's Mediterranean regions that made very similar recipes before Italians ever did.
The image I attached and deceptively named "pizza.png" is actually "coca levantina" one of the many early Spanish recipes for what would later be known as pizza.

>yeah, but Italians invented the modern version of pizza!
Wrong again. The modern version of pizza that everyone in the world loves and imitates was invented in the United States. It's an American invention.

We also invented Coca Cola, but that's enough minds blown for today.

>100% parasite-free Salmons
absolute nonsense
salmon "farms" are literally just big nets out in the open water; it's not some controlled environment that can be made free from parasites
even if you were constantly pumping the fish full of antiparasitic drugs (almost certainly illegal for a fish intended to be eaten) then it wouldn't be enough
i am not exaggerating when i tell you that every single fish in the ocean has parasites
>>
Salmon is terrible eaten raw, though.
