Those last few seconds looking up at the building were comfy. I imagine some Indian anons posting from up there
>inb4 you're a jeet
Nope, just thought it looked comfy for a second. I'd never want to be there obviously

perhaps but it has a certain je ne sais quoi about it that makes it addicting to watch

These places are like Brazilian favelas without any sense of hygiene, and Brazilian favelas are like Indian slums without any sense of law and order. If you combined the positive aspects of the two it probable wouldn't be that bad of a place to live.

>happens iyc?
yes actually. i've watched tons of these videos from india, bangladesh and pakistan .
my favorite is bangladesh however:
>feels industrial and grimy, covered in car exhaust soot, skies darkened with smog, river banks made of trash
>high rises dot the horizon, overpasses crisscross the city (dhaka), utilitarian pedestrian bridges with homeless strewn about, every other street is an improvised market
>perpetual honking punctuated by the azan and loudspeakers advertising some vendor's street stall
>cars, buses (scratched from a million collisions), rickshaws, tut-tuts flooding the street, continuous traffic jams, people darting in between the traffic to cross anywhere on the street
>walls covered in old political posters, garish store fronts, women wearing sarees next to women wearing niqabs, men wearing lungis and old uncles with bright orange beards
>>
>>225414563
it looks like it could be a nice building if it was cleaned up
>>
>>225414426
As a thirdie myself the first two videos weren't even THAT bad, even if they are worse than the slums in my city, but having a literal river of trash right in front of your door is a whole different level.
>>

>>
>>225414378
Well if you leave the prejudices out and ignore the cringe-inducing filth and poverty, it's quite interesting to appreciate the cultural differences and social elements. It's like a safari for anthropology enthusiasts.
>>
>>225416278
Some mauritians live here, they're usually shop owners or have restaurants. Some people here like to go on holidays there for a change. But it's not first world.
>>
>>225417106
>But it's not first world.
what's bad about it
it's classified as a high income economy and has a very high hdi
>>
>>225417418
Too touristy, too many private beaches, poor in the outskirts, unfinished houses everywhere and too much scams. Too much sollicitations is really something I dislike in secondary/third world places.
>>
>>225417106
>But it's not first world.
mauritius isn't first world? really? I thought it was nice there
>>
>>225418369
No def not. Their hotels are good (it's not my thing) but they have high quality ones for American or South African tourists. They have a couple attractions that are nice and accesible, it's not dangerous overall but it's not first world. I really see the difference with Réunion island. They're tourism based and it shows anytime you drive a bit out of the big resorts.

how is this different from tourism? I don't think reunion is really selling financial services to boomers. so the services must be related to tourism, correct?

>The island's economy is primarily driven by agriculture, tourism, and services, contributing to its GDP growth, projected to continue into 2025. Key facts about Réunion include its dramatic volcanic landscapes and unique ecosystems, which attract ecotourism and research.
>Réunion operates within a mixed economic system characterized by a combination of state involvement and market forces. The economy of Réunion is integrated into the broader French economy, contributing to a nominal GDP of approximately €19 billion (as of 2022). The GDP per capita stands at around €24,000, reflecting a relatively high standard of living compared to many other regions in the Indian Ocean. The economy is bolstered by subsidies from the French government, which supports various sectors and helps stabilize the local economy.
>The major industries on the island include tourism, agriculture, and public services. Tourism is a pivotal sector, attracting visitors with its lush landscapes, volcanic mountains, and diverse culture, contributing significantly to the local economy. Agriculture, particularly sugarcane production, plays a critical role, with Réunion being one of the largest sugar producers in the Indian Ocean. Other agricultural products include vanilla, tropical fruits, and essential oils. Additionally, the public sector is a significant employer, reflecting the island's reliance on governmental support for economic stability and development.
