Is the job market doomed in your cunt? Here it's expected you apply 300 times and take job applications like a real time job and if you don't you get scolded for being lazy
>>
>>225470824
I have no idea, I never had a job and I'm never planning to get one.
>>
>>225470824
i applied to 1000+ jobs over the course of 18 months. i did more interviews than i can count. i got to the final interview probably 10+ times. i finally got an offer for something in my field but not the role i wanted but i just had to take it
the job market is the worst i've ever seen it in my entire life

We are living through the single worst economic crisis in history, and its being covered up.
>>
Applying to jobs is a full time job. You probably can't even apply to another job while working because you would have to deal with interviews taking up your time and shit and depending on your employer, idk, they've fired people because they knew or suspected they were looking for another job.
I want a new job, mine is kinda eh, but at least I have a job...
>>
>>225471442
You should call them, ask for the supervisor, and demonstrate your ability to perform by talking to him. Directly.

the fix everything immediately button is having it cost $100 to submit a job application btw. Will never happen because the goyim are cattle and are incapable of thinking ahead to second order effects

They need to pretend to be hiring so they can still apply for credit, the application lotto isn't feature it's a bug most companies now feel like they're trying to lay people off but some have employee quotas.

no i mean the applicant has to pay $100 to apply to any job. this will put an end to the current practice of everyone flooding the zone with a million applications

90% of those application forms aren't even real. they are just fronts to farm your data and give the appearance of growth. it's so bad that i'm starting to wonder if stupid dreams like self employment and/or internet content creation are actually becoming more realistic career paths.

Job seekers handing in AI generated presentation letters to the AI HR bot to read and shadowban for 6 months for every company that uses the AI service cause it doesn't have the right buzzwords which in turn turbocharges the number of applications per job seeker exponentially and normalizes suffering and time wasting in between jobs. And then walks in Mr. Boomer who gets 250% of what he paid for his pension and says you oughta demand the manager and give him a firm handjob

It's also more money to sustain all of the buttsniffer jobs. I didn't much myself.
Long story short
When I was 18 and signed into the unemployment office I was almost instantly sent to their in-house "specialist". Talked to her once, she then sent me to an actual psychologist and doctor. I was diagnosed with autism and a bunch of other stuff within the next two years.
But I was still too young for any chances of permabux so I just lived on normal welfare. But with my diagnoses I didn't have to apply for jobs, I was exempt from all the "activities" unemployed people usually are forced to do.

Years rolled by, something changed within the system and I had to go get diagnosed and stuff again at age 25 which lasted for about a year (like 1 meeting a month or so, sometimes even less).
But I got the same results and my "not fit for employment" status was confirmed.
When I was 29 and about to turn 30 and had been living on basic (temporary) welfare my entire adult life I was told to apply for "Sjukersättning" (sickness compensation/sick pension). The chances were very low, everyone told me that but it was pretty much my only way out of the welfare bux loop.

I applied with the help of my doctor and psychologist, was told an answer would be at least 8-12 months away.
6 weeks later I got a letter in the mail, I was approved for 100% and taken off welfare bux and instantly put on sick pension money with all the benefits and bump in pay that brings.
Basically, I just did what government people told me to do. Never once cared or had the energy to do anything myself.
And picrel is the type of pay I have at a 100%.

Most jobs are useless if not detrimental and only exist to increase market value of economies and corporations. They're all enabled to exist because we've become super efficient thanks to extremely productive machines fueled by fossil fuels. The ROI on ressource extraction is increasing over time because we've already used up the easily accessible resources. Less fossil fuels mean extremely productive machines not running as much means globalism slowing down means fake jokes and gibs all going bye bye. Thank god I have a real job that can be explained in a sentence but good luck to the faggots with fake jobs who plan on living past 2040/2050. But you can have a great time until then, just plan your death before.

We're gonna go back to simpler times. Vast majority of jobs not directly tied to primary resources production or maintenance of already existing infrastructures will go bye bye. Unemployment similar to the shit you see in African nations will be normalized in the West. Desperate investments in alternatives. ITER will be nowhere near close to make up for the decrease in energy even by 2040/2050. Eventually this will regulate itself but only via the cost of the death of countless people. Only 9 countries out of the 34 producing oil are still producing at 100% of their capacity. 2 decades ago it was 26 out of 34.
>>
>>225474049
>>225473972
Good post. Nate Hagans and Charlie Hall go into this extensive, although Hall believes that population decline is necessary. Energy supply has little to do with finance since you make less if the supply is too great, EROI is the main thing that keeps modern economies going. The weird thing is modern population decline was predicted almost exactly since the 1970s, it's not peak oil that's threatening the collapse of neoclassical liberalism it's depletion as in the return on investment for energy is what's stagnating not the supply itself.
>>
>>225474137
We will 100% experience conflicts aimed at considerably decreasing the global population. Population decline is indeed necessary but simply having low birth rates will not be enough to lower energy needs significantly.

The point is that, once you go past 100% of your producing capacity, that's a sure sign that you've gone past your peak EROI.

Between 2030 and 2040 is when it's going to start violently impacting people beyond mere abstractions. Companies shrinking and remodeling to adapt to the new energy costs. Trades slowing down due to the increased cost of logistics. Everything you try to buy costing a price you never expected in your lifetime. Trucks, cargo ships, logistic/production tools, those are for the most part thermic and even for the few ones that are electric, most of our electricity is produced using fossil fuel.

If you can't see that this, tied to low birth rates, is the perfect opportunity for massive conflicts to occur in an effort to decrease the global population, decrease production needs, and therefore bring the economy back to some kind of normal, you are already doomed. We're in 2026 not 2005, you can't really be careless anymore. Until you plan on dying soon that is, it depends really.
>>
>>225474137
It's obvious with anyone with a minimum of critical thinking to know that this war will 100% involve the USA, as a massive producer and supplier. Its aim will be to have foreign energy dependant developed countries, such as us for example, reliant and easily controlled.

People in general are completely disconnected with what allows their way of living. Which machines and which energy. They just start complaining when they see prices at the station increase, which as you pointed out, it's extremely reductive and short sighted, despite the fact that we're very close to reaching a global catastrophe.
>>
>>225474184
>once you go past 100% of your producing capacity, that's a sure sign that you've gone past your peak EROI
Yes, but it's not due to supply it's because the fuel is more valuable not being wasted by a useless job. Machines have gotten so efficient that we're closing in on the point where almost any human input is a loss on EROI. The decline in birthrates is actually increasing EROI, we're not talking about simple production or labor anymore it's flat out wasting energy. If you look at finance it's centered around growth, but growth directly detracts from EROI. You have two systems operating directly against each other, the dispute is systemic as much as it is physical, even the most ardent of peak oil doomsayers never say it's a supply issue. I'd consider Hall a pessimist he says most of what you're describing, but he never once mentions supply.
>>
>>225474300
I understand that we have enough oil to last for far longer than just 2050 and that EROI is the actual problem, the only point I think I'm lacking (I don't read books) is what's causing it beyond my initial instinct which is that we've already extracted the easily accessible oil and that it costs more to extract what's left, and that this phenomenon gradually gets worse over time.

To me past a certain EROI, the remaining supply might as well not exist since nobody will really be willing to extract. Or perhaps I'm wrong and it will always be worth extracting, just not as much as it used to be. Anyways we're fucked. I hope you have a real job and practical skills. My real point was that weird retarded faggots like OP are doomed if they plan on growing old. Expecting gibs to keep running or/and to be enough when recession is inevitable and this close is stupidity beyond understanding to me.
>>
>>225474401
Resource growth is always additive, population growth is exponential. A while ago this was considered anti-humanist, but if you have a dip in EROI that means that the system will eventually collapse. When? I don't know but it will if you let it dip too far and the problem is clearly population across any metric, that's why they need to write up these 300 page reports equivocating because it's pretty alarming to just outright state that every person born is a net loss on energy. The ceiling for human reproduction is far higher than oil production which may not look like it will end anytime soon, but given enough time humans can very easily outpace it. Like maybe if we were at 4.0 fertility rate for the past 40 years we'd already be seeing Soylent Green conditions thankfully that never happened.

Employment in tech has become a nightmare. You look at positions where the hiring manager is an indian guy, 80% of his direct reports are all indian. Don’t even bother applying even if you meet all criteria you will get rejected
Chinese guy? 50% of direct reports are also chinese. There is such blatant favoritism towards own ethnic groups

Funny enough my current manager is pakistani and there are a couple pakistanis and most of my team is american. lol. I got lucky
It’s actually retarded. Working in tech is like managing tribal politics.
>>
>>225470824
I literally just walked in, there wasn't even an interview they just immediately hired me on the spot basically. At both jobs I've had it was the exact same.
>>
>>225474401
Supply is elastic through more mechanisms than you think, or that anyone can think of now. Oil can be synthesized given enough energy, for example, and solar energy is abundant in space. That's one angle; or maybe we are pressured to develop alternatives to plastics. You see this economic principle over and over again once you know to look for it (we were promised $200/bbl crude by now)
>>
>>225470824
I'm trying to get a job after a 5 (five) year employment gap, it's going about as well as you would expect.
>>
>>225474445
It's pretty obvious to me that the real problem isn't population size but rather specific cohorts of the total population. Some populations, even in massive numbers, barely account for the energy usage. To me it would make the most sense for them to aim to reduce the number among the ones they see as the biggest drains first.

Logically, we should be more of a target than africans. And to me it's kinda why they never really bothered keeping black population under control.
>>
>>225474543
The majority of oil gets used for transport, it's not just electricity usage. Something like a battery powered cargo frigate is never going to happen. It sounds stupid, but most of the issue revolves around heavy industry and transport. Africa requires a lot of transport for food and they don't store it well, they're quite possibly the biggest EROI loss on the planet right now.
>>
>>225474515
That may be true but I don't we have a readily available alternative, whether it is right now or in 20/30 years, for something we're so overly reliant on. Our reliance upon it is far too great.

At a personal level though, you can totally do it and I've already done it myself. Installed solar panels on my roof, during the summer I don't pay any electricity even with AC running during the day. All people can do is small level alternatives. I'm even thinking about something as silly as a solar powered vehicle or bike simply for my personal use.

For the plastic part, I think it's a good idea and could potentially work, but I don't see a significant effect on EROI.

Just being aware of any of this gives a massive advantage to people, it's going to get grim relatively soon (a few decades isn't that long, I won't even be 50 by then).

I've seen cargo frigates with sails, it was impressive. Talking to the captain he told me it could save up around 25-30% in fuel consumption. Depending on the circumstances that number jump way higher... or go way lower. It's the only real alternative, we're not seeing electric cargo ships or electric trucks.

Trucks seem to be more of an issue than ships to maintain supply lines. Your point makes a lot of sense nevermind, I think they're the ones who get obliterated in majority but overall maritime commerce will slow down.

No, 40% of the world's energy goes into industry, 30% intro transport, 10% into miscellaneous stuff like plastics, and 20% into things like heating/cooling buildings. It has very little to do with location, there this thing called Jevon's Paradox. The better you get at using a resource the more it's consumed because of demand. The problem has more to do with demand, this is exactly why artificial scarcity exists if oil was 20 a barrel it would be consumed more not less. Not to sound like a commie, but it's a core market problem.
