Question for anons who are from former communist countries, what do your parents and grandparents think of the communist period? Also if their are any boomer uncs on /int/ who saw it themselves, what was it like?
>>
>>225470993
That it was shit, and that they are glad ussr fell apart
>>
I would sacrifice everyone on int in a satanic ritual just to be able to watch Azra perform live in Dom Omladine Beograda in 1981
>>
>communist country
>still has private property and money
wtf
>>
>>225471106
communism is endgoal of marxist leninist socialism chud
>>
Communism is the friends we make along the way.
>>
>>225470993
The state didn't wither away the union did. The SFSR still exists they just renamed it to the RSFSR.
>>
>>225470993
My grandparents are dead and my parents are almost completely indifferent, there are things they liked and hated about yugoslavia. It wasn't all good but it certainly wasn't all bad either.
>>
I bet they think it was the good old days fucking boomers.
>>
>>225471102
Sorry. I don't think I'll be able to attend that ritual.

my mom and aunt did swim meets in murmansk and my babushka went with. it’s funny because she says «communism you don’t want that» while at the same time replies «oh god yes» when asked if russia was better then

of the communist period?
both parents hate it and are anti-russian influence and pro-western influence. Grandmother still thinks that the dissolution of soviet union was a capitalistic psyop and the biggest tragedy for armenia, thought with the leakage of various documents and especially russia's politics in recent years she's far less pro-soviet than before, but still thinks that it was the best country.
>>
>>225473506
pretty much this, old people that lived through Stalin's gulag era love USSR, younger generations of Khrushchev and Brezhnev era are not like that even though life then was objectively more comfortable.
>>
>>225474897
Nice, Ukraine is my favorite soviet republic btw :^)
>>
>>225471106
Comminism has never been tried.
>>
>>225475043
Well, good thing the soviet republic doesn't exist anymore
>>
>>225475061
Communism was the goal not the system, they were socialist nominally. It's basically an eschatology they're promising a heaven on earth/thousand year kingdom/city of god/etc.
>>
My mother is super nostalgic about the communist period. But that's expected since she was 24 when Yugoslavia dissolved plus she actually got to live the "our passport used to be one of the strongest in the world" meme and she is from a small village that had dirt roads and no running water when she was a kid until the communists took care of all that and now today no authorities give that village any help or attention
>>
>>225471060
Ok Banderite.
>>
>>225473506
Really? How old are your parents? I think most people who were born before 1975-ish glaze the commie period
>>
>>225475223
>it's basically an eschatology

It's not, you understand it as such because your perception of history is steeped in idealism and, you said it, christian eschatology.
It is a logical conclusion to the end of history, derived from analysis of history itself: if all civilisations are class and class is determined on claim over means of production versus no claim/access, then to abolish classes there could be no partial/private claim on the means of production. They should belong to all humans and they should be worked and made to bear fruits for all.
>>
>>225477558
My mom is fiercely religious so she's monarchist, my dad is pro free market, freedumbs and other shit etc so he's right wing
>>
>>225471106
Communism is a pathway not a destination o algo así
>>
>>225477638
I'm an atheist and the difference between communism and socialism is that socialism just puts power in the hands of state to a limited degree communism does the same to an extreme degree but says it's only a temporary solution.

>you have money
>but its worthless
>and at some point you needed to have a food stamp to buy food anyway
>and if you wanted a car you had to get on a list and wait a few years
so why have money
>>
>>225477959
You may be an atheist, but you are also unschooled on historical materialism. Step it up and sharpen your dialectics.
>>
>>225470993
My grandpa was a military officer so first he fought the nazis and their minions, and later, once Poland got """liberated""", he had to hide and make up a fake surname for himself to not get gulag'd or Katyń'd by soviets. I never met him, but I imagine the answer to your question would be pure unadulterated hatred.
The other grandpa joined the AK (Home Army, resistance underground in occupied Poland) as a courier and later, when commies took over the country, as a part-time executioner (I think it got him traumatised a bit, he didn't want to do it but they were shorthanded at the time), and since AK lads were being hunted down and gulag'd by commies, the answer would also be pure unadulterated hatred.
My parents speak about PRL with nothing but scorn and always say how much better everything is nowadays. My father was in Solidarity and I heard dozens of anecdotes from him and my mom about standing in lines for hours to buy the most basic utilities or food, or about having to sprint away from drugged up militiamen chasing students to beat the shit out of them with rubber clubs for "illegal public gatherings" or some other bullshit excuse. Awful times. Being ruled by servile traitors, ideological fanatics, and power tripping retards is not fun.

tl;dr:
>>225471060
>>
Beria would have saved the soviets.
>>
>>225478095
Eh same as today under capitalism in name as well.
>>
>>225477523
I mean, I like Antonio Banderas as an actor, but I wouldn't call myself "banderite"
>>
>>225478150
Not that I don't hate the modern corporate dystopia we're all living in, but no, it's absolutely not the same. Not even close.

Worse then.

>>225478190
Your country is suffering from your own fascists, your own paramilitaries. Remember that, always. All the people you lost to attacks and to immigration are because your fascists provoked russian engagement in ukraine according to usa/NATO planning, thinking that ukraine would be another vietnam for the russians. It was the usa/NATO paramilitaries who shot people in Maidan squuare, organised the coup, burned tge unionists and prepared to draw russia in. Everybody knows this.
>>
>>225470993
My father ran a small town's branch of the secret police in the USSR and had a rape dungeon built under his house with public funds for "interrogations" so he could work from home. When communism fell the townspeople lynched him and units of the secret police covered it up (banning any news from coming out about it and turning the house into a regular police station).
>>
>>225478520
Just so you know, I'm not reading all that schizobable
>>
>>225478690
how do you feel about ukranian women not being conscripted for civilian or military service? I'm assuming you're a man?
>>
>>225478690
Conceding the argument then by calling it crazy? Ok, accepted, bitch. You can't even argue. What is there to argue against anyway? Nothing. I laid down the history for you.

And I haven't even mentioned that everybody knows about the baby farming mafia (surrogate mothers).

Enjoy getting split by the rest of the european imperialist vultures now that the crusade against russia failed.
>>
>>225478520
why do russia's strongest internet warriors never live in russia
>>225473506
boomers here generally strongly dislike the USSR period but they're also nostalgic for their own youth, I think that's the biggest factor
>>225470993
communism is seen in a strongly negative light here but I doubt it's so much the actual communism as much as the fact that it was the russians doing it
>>
>>225478741
no ethnic westoid cares this much about some slav spat, vanya.
>>
>>225478809
Not a russian internet defender. Just reading history. And the war is affecting us too. Not only in inflation.
Not against any people in general. Just pro-worker.
>>
>>225478842
nigger you came out of nowhere to seethe at a random ukrainian you are OBSESSED.
>>
>>225478828
I know in your thick fascist scull nobody could take an opposing view to you unless they are muslim/russian/faggots, but keep in mind, please, that you are a moron who can't even spell historical materialism. You see a picture of Marx and do the sign of the cross.
>>
>>225478716
Mixed feelings. Last I've heard, there were approximately 75000 women serving in the defense forces, mostly in support roles. I do think they could be involved more in defense production though, and have the same travel restrictions as men through, but it's kinda pointless at this point.
>>
>>225478741
Make a coherent point first, bootlicker
>>
>>225478896
*The travel restrictions are pointless
>>
>>225478912
Just remember what I said.
>>
>>225478964
I won't, because I didn't read it.

>>225479037
Seethe. You'll all be communists by the end, history itself will make you.
>>
>>225478982
And yes you did read it.
>>
good thing victory of communism is always in the future and never in the present
>>
>>225479441
I literally read to the point where you used the term "fascist". Wanted to stop after "paramilitary", but gave you the benefit of the doubt.

How do you expect to be taken seriously when, you write stuff like that in the first sentence?
>>
>>225479427
Highly unlikely
