How come only the U.K. has Wetherspoons? It feels like such successful concept (pubs that only serve pre-mixed drinks and warm up Sysco pre-made food to save on labour cost and slash drink and food prices to bare minimum) would expand internationally.

I can cook frozen meals at home why would I want to pay extra to have someone put things in a microwave?

You don't have access to the Sysco or GFS ordering system. Sysco/GFS stuff is pre-made but some of them are closer in taste to meals that were made from scratch than ready-to-eat frozen food sold in grocery stores. Because restaurants know how much of certain food they sell in a day, and they receive Sysco deliveries every couple days, they can ask Sysco to make food that taste the best within a certain budget, the only restriction being that it has to last in the fridge for a few days. Grocery stores need ready-to-eat food that lasts for months in the freezer, so there's going to be a lot of compromise made in taste and texture to make food that freeze well.
