are there indonesian intellectuals?

I have literally never heard of a single one. Not even trying to be rude but I've met engineers, scientists, and thinkers from virtually every other country in the USA.

I met an engineer from Turkmenistan in seattle but I've never met an indonesian doing anything of substance. how the hell do you explain that

yes anon. One of the smartest guys I met in my university was turkish. he studied mathematical physics / dynamics.

The turks (at least the men) I've met in california were incredibly technically competent but very small in number. Turkish women, just like white women in general, have no interest in technical subjects however.

The only women who study STEM subjects regularly are chinese. Without fail.

I came across a few Indonesian international students while studying engineering. One was very capable and was trying her best to get into postgrad and stay here, the others were pretty average students.
