Well it's a long story but when it comes to miniature wargaming in the UK it's all based in Nottingham and it's essentially one group of people are responsible for running everything. But it wouldn't have been possible without model companies like Airfix, Italeri, Bandai and Zvesda who started decades before. But also metal flats, lead and wood toy soldiers and even Prussian general staff for creating kriegspiel.

Do you like make up scenarios in your head about some kind of encounter going on as you pull together these sceneries? Or do you just do it from a purely aesthetical standpoint?

I genuinely feel like Britain has always been full of "eccentrics" and men who potter about in their shed with their niche weird hobby. My uncle was a trainspotter and he even had recordings of train sounds he made. And its all just for them, i feel like the modern person cant understand making things or having a hobby that you dont shout about or publish online or do for "clout"

a little bit of both, it kinda depends on what I have at my disposal. this pic is from a 1/20 scale diorama I made. I had a story in my head about the cat resting in the pilots hatch and the engineer finding it cute.

Neat, going to try my hand at making a 1/10 scale diorama or a Mini getting a 'busa swap when I fix the 3D printer

That it is, I've built a couple model kits before but it's a whole new ballgame trying to make a diorama on top of it, I quickly found that 1/12 stuff is kind of hard to come by for certain scenarios unless you have a 3D printer so I bought a cheap one. So far I've printed a bunch of walls, some jack stands and mini tools and found a battery powered engine hoist in 1/10th scale for RC cars, still got a long way to go with painting, lighting, doing the actual models etc.
