>>225532244Yep, and yet they still have better sanitation, Olympic performance (6 gold medals compared to India’s none at the 2024 summer Olympics in Paris), and just overall quality of life than India. Honestly my theory is in part communism, which raised up Eastern Europe despite long periods of occupation. India made a huge mistake not becoming a socialist state, it is ruined by neoliberal capitalism which hampers development. If India had done what China did they would be in a much better position.
