Anyways, I recently visited the Cologne Cathedral. Despite the entrance fee of 12€ it was quite nice. I'm going back with a friend to visit the treasury vault too, which has a seperate entrance fee.
The Church still are highway robbers, it seems.

It's mainly made out of softer Trachyte and Sandstone and thus powerwashing would damage the stones, which are already damaged by the effects of pollution.
