Thread OSThttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrrr7w4wz18&t=345sPost interesting facts (persons, legends monuments, artworks, artists, music, etc.) about your province (first) originated during Middle-Ages (313-476/1492) or Early Modern Era (1492/1789). Then, post something about your country in general.I will start.Across Spain, according to records, villagers used to "worship" an ancient Pagan Celtic serpent god associated to wells named Airón linked to tributes and even human sacrifices according to inquisitorial records. We do not know if these wells were already consecrated to Airón during pre-Roman Era, thus surviving among peasants during Roman, Gothic and Islamic conquest; or most likely if it was a vestige pagan cult brought by Asturian, Cantabrian, Basque and Galician settlers during Reconquista wherever they settled in the plains of Castile. In any case, there are more than 100 wells named after Airón across Spain, and many other churches built over places where these wells were located. As this church in Valera de Arriba (Eastern Castile).
