The browner they are the more they worship you, usually it correlates to lack of education and therefore all they know are the cool Hollywood actors and telenovela protagonists. Being white in Mexico is synonymous with money, so they are bigger targets for crime. Some people don't consider them real Mexicans, and culturally they do tend to be different, they're closer to American whites than the majority of the Mexican population in terms of culture and life style.
