Why do finns hate finland?
>>
>>225978916
Finns lived in SOVLful mudhuts and cool caves before the Swedish bladdy basterds forced them to live like this

Streets are too wide for no reason

>Single lane on one side
>Two lane on the other
>Too wide
What?
>>
>>225979062
This. Not walkable. Not walkable at all!
>>
>>225979104
Wide streets are usually ugly and pointless
>>
>>225978946
I mean we know what Finno-Russian villages in koreliya and myurmjansk look like
Is primitive as can be
>>
>>225979164
But that street isnt wide tho.

A two lane street isnt a wide one. Its pretty fucking normal.
>>

>>
>>225979860
Theres a tram going trough the middle its not actually that big
>>

Damn, it even looks more bright than here.
>>

You need more?
>>
>>225979984
1/3 of Finns are fine with doing bussiness as usual with Poccnr
I'm not one of those chimps
>>
>>225979965
You deserve russia
>>
>>225980041
I meant you need more than a log cabin in the woods?
>>
>>225980115
Those cabins are all rotting lil bro
>>
>>225979409
Too wide. Should be cut down to 1 lane only
Best situation would be to get rid of all the lanes and redirect car traffic elsewhere. Let the street be for trams, bikes and pedestrians only
>>
>>225980338
Nta but do you know the specific situation on that street? I do like walkable towns, but I also want the firebrigade to be able to get to my home.
>>
>>225978916
Those place only foreigners live
>>
>>225980338
can't believe chuds look at this and feel nothing but seething rage
>>
>>225980338
the problem is that the city planners are schizo. they try to accommodate both cars, cyclists and pedestrians, leading to no one being happy, with traffic jams and crowded bicycle lanes at the same time.

Russian living conditions are insane. Half of the time their heating or water is also broken

Don't you have a feeling like Finland's miracle in the cold war era is a bit overlooked? In the 1950s Finland was a regular eastern European country, relatively poor, backwards and Finns would emigrate to Sweden or the US en masse to work in menial jobs. And already in the 1980s it was one of the wealthiest and most developed European countries.

Since Finns love posting their country's picture, I've seen quite a lot of working class houses from the 1950s/60s there and they looked no different from Russia-tier slums. Improving everything in barely 20 years was indeed a miracle.
>>
>>225979062
Helsinki is a car ridden shithole sadly
>>
>>225981104
Yeah our grandparents built this shit from agrarian poor shithole.
>>
>>225981155
is there a modern politician who looks up to Kekkonen's heritage?
>>
>>225981191
Not at all, no.
>>
>>225981203
how is his political doctrine seen in Finland nowadays?
>>
>>225981155
This. I know they would be happy to see how beautiful and vibrant Helsinki has become. It looked completely different when I was young. It is becoming a truly modern European city.
>>
>>225981244
Maybe you are refering to immigrants but this was a poor shithole better part of last century.
>>
>>225981104
>Finland was a regular eastern European country, relatively poor, backwards
It was way better off than all of eastern europe including southern europe just not on par with western europe until the 80s

Finland's GDP per capita in 1960 was $6,220 while Czechoslovakia's - $5,830 (93% of Finnish GDP, and we can safely assume that GDP of Czechia alone, without Slovakia, would be higher than Finland). I don't think you realize how poor Finland actually was.
>>
>>225981675
I still don't get how people stil don't know gdp per capita is even more useless of a metric than gdp.
It literally means nothing its just the total gdp divided by the population of the country
The average wage for industrial workers in finland in 1954 was 2.8 swiss francs in italy it was 1.2
>>
>>225982050
and again, average wage is also meaningless without comparison to cost of living.
economists in the world still use mainly gdp per capita at least for estimating the living standards in countries so they can't be all wrong

and well, Italy could have been also poorer than Czechoslovakia, why not
>>
>>225982092
>and again, average wage is also meaningless without comparison to cost of living.
Good luck finding those statistics which didn't exist at the time.
>economists in the world still use mainly gdp per capita at least for estimating the living standards in countries so they can't be all wrong
Tell me what do you think gdp-per capita measures hmm?
>Italy could have been also poorer than Czechoslovakia, why not
Reslly doubtful and again comapring living standards on these statistics in a market economy compared to a command economy where all wages and prices are fixed is meaningless
>>
>>225981298
I never mentioned immigrants. I mean the new trams they're building, new metro stations , new sleek modern looking buildings. Restaurants from every corner of the world.
>>
>>225978916
that’s literally the most hellish place in this country

the problem is that it wasn't just Kekkonen, it was all of societys doing. There was a monoculture and urge to improve things, the capitalist class also participated. Kekkonen could call up the big shots and tell them
>You will now build a factory in shitholeville!
and all they could say is
>Yes Mr. President!
Kekkonen could say to the workers
>Stop striking, back to work!
and the unions could only say
>Yes Mr. President!
but that society is gone
>>
>>225979965

Funny how you, nords and pribalts go reddit mode about wooden houses, just not this type of lol

Not where I live.
>>
>>225980468
I think it's beautiful, but as long as euros are hellbent on flooding their cuntries with nogs I wouldn't want to be on a tram. Would you want bike paths if you lived in Brazil? No, who cares.

I lived in Saint Petersburg in Russia for a while from 2022-24 and the only route in/out was a bus via Helsinki, it seemed ok in Finland but I noticed in Helsinki there was a lot more diversity and mixed race children running around than I had become accustomed to in SPB, also loads of women with tattoos and noserings I could just feel I was back in globohomo
>>
>>225988868

you pulled a lot of peters! lol!

I use one, but not here. I cannot post here with VPN without a passcode. So I use other bypassing tool. However this tool doesn't work everywhere, so I use VPNs for those places I cannot reach via my usual DPI bypassing.

It was a dictatorship of the mind. So after him people got spooked and the presidents powers got gradually almost completely removed. So nobody really yearns for 'another Kekkonen'

it's not like there was any real difference in the immediate post war period beyond the total devastation most of europe had suffered

actually, finland wasn't devastated by the war. have you considered this for the "miracle" part?

The baltics were the richest part of russian empire but after ww2 things began to diverge really quickly poverty tourism to baltics already became thing by the 60s and continues to this day.
My grandma visited tallin and riga in the 60s and said she had never seen such poverty in her life and she grew up during the war years.

There's a tramline running in the middle, retard. I understand trains and adjacent technologies have not arrived to penal colonies yet, but you really should look these things up.

Child prostitution in russia is serious problem, see kids young as 8 sell themselves so they can buy drugs.
Many kids also inhale some stuff from plastic bags
>>
>>225992544
I think that's 70's documentary stuff. Highly doubt anywhere in Russia is like that today
>>
>>225978916
