What kind of fucking retard designed it to have no recycle bin by default?
>>
>>226011948
Depends on what you consider "business oriented", wilno is a lot more western European in this regard compared to kowno, kaunas has more of a old eastern european mentality when doing business (somewhat early 2000s attitude, nesisuksi negyvensi sort of stuff)

Dug out my old Xcover Pro (which is basically cucked from having a different OS installed on it) to see for myself and yeah.
While I get why GrapheneOS wouldn't have one, or at least bring up some semi-convincing cope, why Lineage didn't implement one is inexcusable.

>>226012345
It used to be like that 30 days, but only found out now because I never needed it. It's like feeling the absence of a fire extinguisher during a fire. Chernobyl memes aside those reactor control panels have so many redundant doubled, tripled, quadrupled safety systems and automatic control systems when they told everything about it and the heavily vetted workers, it just takes one design flaw and then it goes to shit. They were constantly tard wrangling the reactor between running within spec and not have it automatically shut down.

>>
>>226013257
>I really don't get the rationale.
Me neither, LineageOS isn't trying to be anything super secure/private so to not put a recycling bin there makes no sense.
Just for the sake of it, I dug out the default gallery app for GrapheneOS (which sucks massive ass but that's besides the point), and that doesn't have a recycle bin either. Why?

much better. that is at least a specific focused activity that has some time/effort/opportunity cost investment associated with it beyond just draining your bank account

in this day and age just being able to knit, cook or tend to some indoor plants is a strong positive marker in a woman, when the highest standard most of them aspire to seems to be going to a club in some foreign country and wait for some guy to come and fuck them, a few nights in a row, a couple of times per year

I love both, Lithuanian wooden architecture and Lithuanian's positive attitude to it (unlike here) is what I respect the most but Lithuanian modern modernism is also top tier, it looks Scandi-like and balanced, unlike here where the architects cannot resist from adding tacky ornaments and details even in architecture where it is undesirable. But well, we can't get rid of the Slavic soul so easily.

Actually I love how modern Lithuanian architects combine obvious Scandi inspiration with somehow Central European vibe, which makes the buildings look a bit more original than in Estonia, where it's too boring and schematic again.
>>
>>226026957
What drives me crazy is that people here do not renovate wooden houses, almost like ever. It's just demolition as the only solution, unless the house is deemed a heritage site and the state funds renovation (but it's a rare case).

The same people will go to work to Norway where they spend years renovating old wooden houses and making them look cozy and modern at the same time but when they come back home all this knowledge magically disappears and they again yearn for a brick-made house as a symbol of status.

>>
>>226027463
actually most people are susceptible to little provocation in conversation, if you say something they don't agree with and firmly defend your point of view, they continue to discuss it zealously.

And yeah, it's actually very easy to get people triggered with something like
>wooden houses are better than brick-made
>Lithuania looks more developed than Poland
>Vilnius is better planned than Warsaw
etc
>>
>>226027505
>Old wooden rotten cottages have no style or any specific architecture because most were literally built by the village people who had no building skills or money.

For some reason people want join living room and kitchen together. I don't understand this trend. I cook often, for example frying fish literally makes my kitchen smell like fish, when having open plan kitchen all those smells literally will literally permeate every single item in the loving room too (furniture, closet/clothes), also by removing those walls they often affect structural integrity of the entire block.
>>

That is like it is living in a modern cubicle, all kitchen are open plan, the blocks built with bueget in mind so there is no green spaces outside, there is not even parking outside everything is so close together, no privacy, if there a small green space theb they build a children playground (and then you constant screaming and shouting in the summer and basically at all times when school is over).

If an American boomer invested $100 every month in S&P500 (and the monthly fee was adjusted for inflation annually) starting from 1982, today he would have $2 018 285. If this was $500 - he'd have $10 091 425. Only around 5% of this amount would be what he actually invested and 95% - the profit from growing value of the assets.

This is insane how rich western boomers are, you can't even imagine it living in e*stern europe.

You mean the vibrant ethnically diverse communities with mixed tastes in cuisine and intertwining languages? Also low-tier BRT system instead of a proper metro?
>>
>>226033923
Agreed

The other day I visited Užupis (after some anon mentioned it here), it was nice, not quite the old town but also several old buildings mixed with the new but goddamn it was quiet there, very little traffic, peace and tranquility almost in center of the city. I envy so much those people who live there (either the rich or those who inherited land/property there)

and a lot of crime

Best thing about multicultural cities is the cuisine ngl, there is so much variety, so much to choose from. Wilno is sadly not there yet, most restaurants are not authentic, aren't even contemporary, they basically just looked up the recipes of basic foreign dishes online and did not even copy them properly but adapted them so that they hardly different from our traditional slop.

Isn't Uzupis a meme student republic?

I managed to live in this shithole microdistrict for 18 years, kind of get used to it. Can't tell if it got any better still looks like a shithole, probably crime decreased.

desu I was disappointed that despite 20% of Vilnius being Polish there are only like 3 Polish restaurants in all of the city (and I guess they all target Polish pilgrims to the Gate of Dawn). But Poles don't really like their food even in Poland, I can't even find a genuine Polish restaurant anywhere near me, while I have a dozen of kebabs, pizzerias, viet bars, georgian bakeries and so on.

I don't get people's complaints about living in old soviet apartments, most of them are very decent and if they're renovated they're much, much better than the shitty apartments they build nowadays

Avoid the kibinai there, nothing special. Only go to kumpir kebab shop in iki. I don't know if the turkiyëian Kerem still works there himself didn't visit because I was stuffed with grandmas cooking.

Better how?

I agree but the environment around them is just as important. Naujanai is full of drunks, junkies and low class people, trashcans stink, tons of trash everywhere, manholes stink, no proper infrastructure done, still Brezhnev era sidewalks everywhere, newly built buildings don't fit in to the environment and architecture making things look uglier. I remember it being kind of charming looking before they built all those ugly glass cubes and uneven renovation of some buildings, pig disgusting.

ok makes sense

It's a mikrodistrict, on three of its sides it's separated from old town by the river, there some meme about it being a "separate republic", it mainly just residential building and business
>>
>>226034569
>on three of its sides it's separated from old town by the river,
Yeah, I know, in Polish its name is "Zarzecze" so "Behind-river"
> there some meme about it being a "separate republic",
I think it's actually their main brand for advertisement
> it mainly just residential building and business
in the eastern side, but the western side is mostly old architecture and basically part of the old town

kek shithuanians had to translate it "back" into lithuanian
>>
>>226034698
fine, it's actually very cool that it has its own separate identity and was "given" to students, very smart concept
such little details are what gives makes the experience with a city more spicy.
Lithuanians are overall very original and unconventional with many things, sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't, apparently. But at least I understand why Lithuania is a startup country.

You don't understand anything. Lithuania has less than 3 million people, it's a meme country, 2/3 of the country population wise is comparable to Warsaw alone. Regarding start ups, maybe we are better than Latvia but compared to western Europe the number of our startups (total and startups per the amount of people) is completely irrelevant
