However, in many countries, kids can drop out of school at 15 or 16 to work. If they can work, they can marry, hence why many countries still have the age limit at 15 or 16. In Malaysia, we have made it compulsory to finish schooling until 17-18. People can still marry below 18 (minimum 16) but only with the State Chief Minister's approval.
